CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – Using a QR code is becoming more common as a way to access information quickly on your phone. You may have seen a Quick Response code, a group of black and white pixels usually in the shape of a square. Each one has an individualized pattern that encodes data that provides information about a product or service. They also allow users to view a menu at a restaurant, get directions, download an App, and confirm banking and other personal account information, along with dozens more uses. As more people begin using them, thieves looking to steal...

AUSTIN –– Transportation Security Administration chief David Pekoske said the agency wants to use technology to reduce the number of screening officers in checkpoints and speed up travel processes as passenger volumes increase. At Tuesday’s panel at South by Southwest, which focused on accelerating aviation security, he boasted about the agency’s computed tomography technology and biometrics. Despite struggling with staffing a year ago, Pekoske said that nearly 2.4 million people are screened on a given day by TSA. Pekoske said that TSA’s purpose is to make sure it maintains its security and transportation system at the same time, while staying...

During the Democrat’s sham impeachment inquiry this week, Republican Congressman Deven Nunes brought up the name Alexandra Chalupa several times. Alexandra “Ali” Chalupa is a Democratic National Committee operative linked to Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden and fake “whistleblower” / CIA analyst Eric Ciaramella. However even the usually well-informed Rep. Nunes seems to have missed one of the biggest bombshells of the Democrat’s 2016 election interference that’s been hiding in plain sight: Chalupa’s admission she was involved in a plot to scan a number of state’s voting systems with Obama’s Department of Justice and Department of Homeland Security in what Chalupa...

Facebook has quietly expanded the availability of technology to automatically identify people in photos, renewing concerns about the privacy practices of the world's top social networking service. The feature, which Facebook automatically enabled for Facebook users, has been expanded from the United States to "most countries", Facebook said on its official blog on Tuesday. Its "Tag Suggestions" feature uses facial recognition technology to speed up the process of labeling friends and acquaintances that appear in photos posted on Facebook. "Yet again, it feels like Facebook is eroding the online privacy of its users by stealth," wrote Graham Cluley, a senior...

From the Drudgereport website, a young man who decided to stripe down to his Speedo bathing suit. IMHO this young man REALLY GOT CREATIVE when it came to going through the TSA security area. The TSA guy who was involve getting this gentleman through the scanning area must have had dropped his mouth to the floor on seeing this guy stripe down. Frankly, the airport screening protests are going to get very interesting today and Sunday. Also he has written on his back the words, “Screw Big Sis”. Question, why strip down to the Speedo?

The mainstream media ask all the wrong questions. A CBS survey concluded that: Americans overwhelmingly approve of the use of full-body digital x-ray machines — a new technology in use at some airports in the U.S. Most, meanwhile, do not approve of racial or ethnic profiling — a practice not in place. The following questions apparently were not asked: “Have you or an immediate family member flown on a commercial airliner in the United States since November 1, 2010?” and “Do you or an immediate member of your family intend to fly on a commercial airliner in the United States in...

The announcement, in Japanese, is here; reader's interpretation is this: Apparently the conditions for shipping packages via air to the United States have now become so restrictive that the Japanese Post Office has announced that, effective Nov. 17, it will no longer accept any packages weighing over a pound for shipment to the US by any method that involves air transport (including EMS, airmail, and SAL). Sometimes it’s the little things…… A few years ago, when TSA was implemented, all the baggage inspectors wore a simple uniform. It was an inexpensive white uniform shirt with a fabric representation of a badge embroidered sewn into the shirt over the left breast pocket. On the back of the shirt, about 8 inches below the collar line, the letters TSA were embroidered. TSA emblem patches adorned each shoulder From the front, back or side, there was no doubt you were dealing with a government-authorized baggage screener. But that wasn’t macho enough for our latest coven of government snoops. In...

Sadly, the Drudgereport “hits it on the nail”. “The Terrorists Have Won”. Despite one man’s personal objections to being screened because it is invasive to his privacy, the Transportation Security Administration has come out on Monday to state that while it tries to be as sensitive to individuals, it made its case once again that anyone who is taking a plane flight, must be screened. John Tyner, from San Diego, who was going to South Dakota on a hunting trip had explained to CNN in an interview said he had refused to go through an x-ray scan. From CNN website:Tyner...

Does anyone know a softward solution for cleaning up margins in scanned documents? I just had a local print shop print and bind a small book job. I had scanned the book into a PDF, and there were edges in the margins of the PDF. The job was done on a digital copies (Lanier, I believe it was) that had a button named EdgeErase, which cleaned out the edges and straightened skewed margins. Is there a softward product that would do this to scanned pages? Acrobat? Another Adobe product? Another company's product? Thanks in advance for any help. fnu lnu

When a parent arrives to pick up their child at one of three grade schools in the Freehold Borough School District, they'll need to look into a camera that will take a digital image of their iris. That photo will establish positive identification to gain entrance into the school. Funding for the project, more than $369,000, was made possibly by a school safety grant through the National Institute of Justice, a research branch of the U.S. Department of Justice. "The idea is to improve school safety for the children," said Phil Meara, superintendent, Freehold Borough School District, on Monday. "We...
