"1883" actor Sam Elliott apologized Sunday for comments he made about Jane Campion's acclaimed Western film "The Power of the Dog," saying at a promotional event that he "wasn't very articulate about it." "I said some things that hurt people and I feel terrible about that," Elliott said in part at a Deadline panel event about the Paramount+ drama series "1883." In an interview on Marc Maron's podcast "WTF" that aired last month, Elliott blasted Campion's film, calling it a "piece of s---" and decrying what he characterized as "allusions to homosexuality throughout the f------ movie." Western film icon Sam Elliott is being spit-roasted online after railing on Jane Campion’s 12-time Oscar-nominated drama “The Power of the Dog” for including “allusions to homosexuality” and other LGBTQ themes. The “1883” actor dropped the shocking bombshell during a recent appearance on Marc Maron’s “WTF Podcast,” Entertainment Weekly reported. “You want to talk about that piece of s – – t?” the 77-year-old “Tombstone” star sputtered when asked for his thoughts about the provocative Netflix movie, which is a contender for the Best Picture and Best Director Academy Awards. Hollywood actor Sam Elliott has lent his deep, resonant voice to the Joe Biden campaign, narrating a new campaign ad that calls for Americans to unite behind the Democratic presidential nominee. “There is only one America — no Democratic rivers, no Republican mountains,” Elliott says in the commercial. “Just this great land and all that’s possible on it, with a fresh start. Cures we can find, futures we can shape. Work to reward, dignity to protect. There is so much we can do if we choose to take on problems and not each other, and choose a president who brings...

The Netflix sitcom The Ranch was once called a “conservative” sitcom, but as it ends its run this month, the series has veered left with an anti-gun message among other virtue signaling fare. When it debuted in 2016, the streaming sitcom starring Ashton Kutcher and Sam Elliott brought reviewers to note that swipes at Barack Obama, support for guns and hunting, love of tractors and cars, and criticism of global warming, made it more conservative than most TV shows. “Me. I’m sick of it. I’m sick of people saying they need an assault weapon to defend themselves, and I’m sick...

“I think the thing off the top of my head might be, ‘It’s about f***ing time,'” says Sam Elliott, in the wake of his first ever Oscar nomination. “Beyond that, it’s really about the work; it’s just about the creative process. It’s great to be recognized for that, that’s really all it’s about.”

The latest Civil War-related historical roadside marker will be dedicated during a special ceremony next month in Cleveland. The marker commemorates the difficult time during the Civil War when much of Bradley County lay between Union and Confederate lines. During this period, homes and businesses were vandalized and robbed by both pro-Union and pro-Confederate forces who took advantage of the prevailing lawlessness. This marker also commemorates the courageous actions of War of 1812 veteran Joseph Lusk II, who at 73, defended his home with determination against a group of outlaws attempting to steal his mules. He shot and killed one...

I have learned what all we old military veterans have wanted for many, many, many years, may actually be going to happen. If you are familiar with the TV mini-series, Once An Eagle, staring Sam Elliott as Sam Damon, with Glen Ford also, is going to be released on DVD sometime in early 2010 according to the web site listed above. Universal has apparently, finally, agreed to do it. This web site was the main campaign site too get the DVD released.
