The subject of Arnold Schwarzenegger bores me. I wrote ceaseless columns on this site warning Republicans and conservatives that he would govern as a liberal and operate as a Trojan Horse for the Dems. During an appearance on the now-defunct CNN show Inside Politics, I said that he could become "the Jim Jeffords of the West Coast." For my troubles, I was dismissed as an out-of-touch, maniacal, abortion-obsessed pinhead. Now to hear the same country-club Republican jackasses who sabotaged Tom McClintock and parachuted Arnie into office whine about his liberal legacy is just boring. You made this slipshod bed; lie...

UPDATED AT 5:20 P.M. Secretary of State Debra Bowen today certified the fifth recall bid seeking to oust Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger. A group called Taxpayers United to Recall Governor Schwarzenegger -- headed by John D. Fusek of La Habra -- now has until Oct. 22 to obtain 1,041,530 valid voter signatures, or 12 percent of the electorate, to qualify the measure for the ballot. It won't be easy. Gray Davis became the first California governor to be recalled in 2003, but four other recall drives against Schwarzenegger -- one in 2004, two in 2005 and one in 2008 -- have...

SACRAMENTO—The decisions facing California voters next week are all about the state's precarious finances, but Tuesday's special election also is shaping up as a watershed moment for Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger. If voters approve the confusing package of measures he helped craft, it will help build Schwarzenegger's case as a government reformer. If voters reject them, as they appear likely to do, the Republican governor will find himself in a position he could not have imagined when he bolted from Hollywood to the state's executive suite nearly six years ago. In that case, Schwarzenegger will be forced to spend much of...

Total Recall 2009 - Is Schwarzenegger On the Way Out?by Skip Press I walked my precinct for Arnold Schwarzenegger. I’d never done that for anyone, but I knocked on every single door, determined that the replacement for recalled Governor Gray Davis would not be Democrat Lieutenant Governor Cruz Bustamante because, well, the Democrats in the California legislature and misrepresenting us in Washington give new definition every day to the word “idiot.” And that was before I had much of an inkling about the wickedness of Nancy Pelosi, whom we must remember represents the Haight-Ashbury district of Baghdad by the...

They're revolting. Families with children, bikers, seniors, pirates - by the thousands descended on a Fullerton bar Saturday to join talk show hosts John Kobylt and Ken Chiampou of KFI in protesting tax increases recently approved in Sacramento. Police estimated that some 8,000 people came to the Slidebar Café in downtown Fullerton to listen to The John & Ken Show. "I expected a lot and it was way more than I expected," said co-host John Kobylt. The talk show hosts put forward an ambitious goal for their Tax Revolt 2009 live broadcast that ran for more than three hours. "The...

East Bay lawmakers predict a gruesome fight this spring over both the gaping state budget deficit and the rules under which California makes its financial decisions. California's projected $8 billion deficit for the upcoming fiscal year will force some tough choices because less painful options have been exhausted. The Legislature is on a partisan collision course between unpopular cuts and less popular tax increases, including the vehicle license fee. Republicans and Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger vow "no new taxes" while Democrats, labor unions and advocates for recipients of state-funded services, including schools, seniors and the poor, have called for a mix...

An international organization promoting families says California families have no choice but to abandon the public school system after Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger signed a new "anti-discrimination" bill into law, effectively making terms like "mom" and dad" obsolete. As WND has reported, some family advocates in California already had come to the same conclusion as that reached now by the World Congress of Families. World Congress of Families Global Coordinator Allan Carlson said the measure, SB 777, is "a blatant attack on the natural family orchestrated by the alternative-lifestyles lobby." The exodus call had been issued just one day earlier by...

A Berkeley physician officially kicked off his petition drive Friday to recall Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger from office. Dr. Kenneth Matsumura announced the effort in September, but his petition was not approved by the secretary of state's office for circulation until Jan. 3. Matsumura claims he has about 10,000 volunteers statewide willing to help gather signatures, and he is urging them to step lively so a recall can coincide with the June primary. Riverside County Democratic Central Committee Chairwoman Shirley Walton is among those volunteers, although the party itself has taken no stance on Matsumura's effort.

A grassroots effort has been launched here in California to recall Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. Schwarzenegger's election to governor is the result of another recall. In 2003, Californians recalled Governor Grey Davis. We have local reaction to this effort to oust Schwarzenegger from office. The group calls itself “Save California Now” and their website is recall2006.com. They say they have 10,000 volunteers signed up, all with the same goal in mind: recall Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger before this year's November election. But locals aren't so sure a recall is feasible.

SACRAMENTO, California (Reuters) - A California physician launched an effort to gather a million signatures to force a recall vote on Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, who came to office two years ago following an unprecedented recall. Kenneth Matsumura announced the campaign prior to submitting a petition to California's Secretary of State, who oversees elections. "People are desperate, they're suffering, and I think the governor's going to have to listen," he told reporters, saying Schwarzenegger has hurt the poor and students. "The task at first seemed daunting but in the last week the number of hits to our Web site at 'Recall2006.com'...

SACRAMENTO – Locked in delicate negotiations, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and state Sen. Gil Cedillo have struggled to narrow their differences over divisive legislation to give illegal immigrants the right to have driver licenses. Cedillo, D-Los Angeles, and the governor's negotiating team are pondering background checks, including requiring applicants to submit a full set of fingerprints, at least two identification documents and proof of address. In addition, the two sides are looking at withholding licenses from illegal immigrants who have criminal records. People from countries considered to be state sponsors of terrorism, such as Iran, Sudan and Syria, also would be...

The percentages being reported in the media on the California Secretary of State's webiste for the recall have been: Arnold..48.5% Cruz....31.8% Tom.....13.4% etc... But these percentages are based on the total people voting in part 2 of 7,623,300 (I saved the Sec Of State's website as a text file, opened it in excel, and totalled the votes of all candidates). However, this doesn't portray what actually happened. If you add up the votes on the recall (part 1), 7,898,606 votes stepped into voting booths yesterday, and by subtraction, 275,306, or 3.5% of them, did not vote on part 2. If...

Social conservatives have a viable candidate in McClintock TORONTO, August 28, 2003 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Steve Jalsevac, a long-time political analyst with Campaign Life Coalition Canada suggests that were actor Arnold Schwarzenegger to capture the Republican Governorship of California it would mean political damage for the Republican Party. "A core constituency within the Republican Party is its social conservatives, most importantly those who are pro-life and pro-family. Schwarzenegger is so obviously a liberal on social issues, his running as a Republican reeks of opportunism and demeans the party's integrity," said Jalsevac. Republicans have another capable candidate in the race who is...
