A Berkeley physician officially kicked off his petition drive Friday to recall Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger from office. Dr. Kenneth Matsumura announced the effort in September, but his petition was not approved by the secretary of state's office for circulation until Jan. 3.
Matsumura claims he has about 10,000 volunteers statewide willing to help gather signatures, and he is urging them to step lively so a recall can coincide with the June primary. Riverside County Democratic Central Committee Chairwoman Shirley Walton is among those volunteers, although the party itself has taken no stance on Matsumura's effort.

I'm all for it escept my reasons are probably opposite those of that nitwit from Berkley.
I don't know California politics very well, but couldn't a recall or an attempt for a recall backfire on the leftists?
Don't hold your breath. Conservatives would have to convince Sundheim to open the party's June gubernatorial primary and that won't happen.
You are faced with a liberal governor regardless of whom you vote for in November. Take some comfort that California's next liberal governor may have an (R) behind his name.
Even if, by the hand of God, the present recall effort surmounted all of the obvious obstacles the two additional measures would be added to the November 2006 ballot. That ballot would feature two, duplicate measures on the same ballot. One, a gubernatorial contest between high profile, partisan candidates, and the other, a free for all involving the likes of Gary Coleman and Mary Carey.
California's Superior Courts and it appellate divisions would reel with the overload. It would truly be the Wild, Wild West
WOuld this be a "Total Recall"?
Earnest. Isn't that up by Yuba City?
...and beside him, a competent conservative partner as Lt. Governor.
Not if the CAGOP subscription keeps tying him to the promotion of a liberal.
As I indicated early I'm suspicious that the constant spamming of the Senator's recommendation to convention delegates on this forum is part of Sundheim's plan to torpedo yet another state wide conservative candidate by driving a wedge into his base.
I share your suspicion.
An accurate statement but not the matter at hand: a suggestion that the party's constant refrain on this forum is offered to connect the Senator to the gang; to tarnish the Senator among ideologues and paint him as just another corrupt Republican, willing to abandon principles for the pursuit of victory.
Nothing can tarnish McClintock, not even you. By not taking his sincere request seriously, you prove what so many suspected and now know to be true about you and your desperate bullies.
You are nothing but Democrats in Conservative Clothing.
I was just discussing characteristics of the CRP on this forum. I was grasping for a quick example to illustrate one of my points when the conversation was interrupted by the autoreconnect feature on my New posts to you screen.
