The Federal Aviation Administration confirmed to WTOP it is investigating a near collision that occurred Thursday morning at Reagan National Airport in Arlington, Virginia. Two passenger jets came within 400 feet of each other before controllers took last-minute evasive action and immediately stopped the two planes. It’s not clear why the jets were authorized to be on the same runway at the same time.

Workers from nine U.S. airports are planning to block bridges, march through terminals and protest at airline headquarters during a day of civil disobedience on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The workers - a mix of cleaners, baggage handlers, fuelers and wheelchair attendants - will risk arrest at airports and other locations including the Mall, to bring attention to their campaign for better wages, the Service Employees International Union said. BREAKING: Officials are on scene of an aircraft that landed at Reagan National Airport in Washington, DC after a bomb threat was made against the aircraft. Details are still sketchy, however, sources tell BaltimoreJewishLife.com that a K-9 unit has detected a suspicious bag on board the aircraft. The aircraft and area around it has been evacuated. ABC 7 has learned the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority have charged Representative Robert Filner of California with assault and battery following an incident at Dulles International Airport Sunday night. Police say they were called to the baggage claim area around 6 p.m. when a passenger attempted to enter an area authorized for airline employees only. ABC 7 spoke with several witnesses who say they saw Filner push aside an United Airlines employee and refused to leave the office. When officers arrived on scene, they found Filner waiting outside the office and informed him the airline employee would be pursuing charges....
