Several members of Congress were on a plane that was sitting on the tarmac waiting to leave Washington on Thursday when it was clipped by another aircraft.
American Airlines said no injuries were reported, and both aircraft returned to the gates at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.
The wingtip of a plane bound for Charleston International Airport in South Carolina struck another plane that was headed to JFK International Airport in New York, according to the Federal Aviation Administration, which is investigating the incident.
In February, an American Airlines flight en route from Boston to DC had to abort a landing at Reagan International Airport.
According to reports, the pilot decided to “perform a go-around maneuver” after he saw another plane on the runway at DCA.
In early February, an American Airlines flight carrying approximately 64 souls collided with a Blackhawk helicopter near Washington D.C. Reagan National Airport (DCA).
All 67 people perished.
A preliminary FAA report indicated that staffing at the DCA Air Traffic Control tower was “not normal” at the time of the helicopter-plane collision.
According to NBC News, at the time of the collision, one controller was overseeing both helicopter and airplane traffic.
Who was the pilot of the other plane and who was he working for?
On purpose?
This may turn out to be a good thing. A little motivation to reform and update air traffic control.
AP says it was Trump...he reached over and grabbed the rudders and yelled This is Maga Country!!
Right - just forget about all those other passengers, those five are more important to note.
Has it become too much to ask American airliners not run into each other? I have seen ground crews walking the wingtips at airports to avoid this. Even minor ground collisions of airliners can cost a fortune to repair.
It is obvious air travel is no longer safe if airliners can’t even stop running into each other on the ground at airports.
I keep seeing American Airlines in a lot of these stories.
Please say it was Sandy Taco Cortez and her squawd on board.
Hey, I like tacos.
This is just one pilot fist bumping another. Nothing to be alarmed about.
Time for another Congressional vacation? Yes it is, with two weeks off for Easter. $36 trillion in debt, haven’t passed real budgets for as long as anyone can remember but they still have time for another vacation.
Democrats or Republicans?
Hope they were demoncRATS. Would be something.
HEY! You should not be giving them an ideas like that.
