When Pan Am Flight 103 set off from Heathrow to New York, its passengers and crew were looking forward to returning home to celebrate Christmas - but tragically, they never made itThe Lockerbie bombing where 270 people sadly lost their lives is still the deadliest terror attack in the history of the UK, even though it took place more than 30 yeas ago. It was 21 December, 1988, when the Pan Am Flight 103 from Heathrow to New York exploded just 38 minutes into its flight while travelling over Lockerbie, with the wreckage of the plain raining down on the...

Barr charges bomb maker from 32 years ago? WTH? This is what he does on his way out the door, Oh and then he throws a huge sucker punch at conservatives by saying he wouldn't touch the Bidens? Is this guy for real? Barr is a freakin hot mess. I never did warm to him. He said some good things along they way that made you think he wanted real justice but he has proven again and again there is a two tier justice system working against conservatives and President Trump. I still think he instructed Durham to investigate Trump...

Andrew Card, who served as White House chief of staff during the George W. Bush administration, on Monday expressed support for House Democrats’ impeachment inquiry of President Trump, saying that "clearly lines have been crossed." "I do think an impeachment inquiry is warranted," Card, who led Bush's White House team between 2001 and 2006, said on MSNBC while addressing revelations about Trump's alleged efforts to enlist Ukraine's help in his 2020 reelection campaign. Card cautioned that he wasn't sure if Trump's actions qualified as an "impeachable offense" and implored members of Congress to let the investigation play out before reaching...

The Airbus A300 was supposed to be on a short flight across the water to an affluent tourism center. There were 290 people on board. In the first few minutes of the flight, a Defense Department report would later explain, the Airbus followed a regular commercial air corridor, climbing toward an assigned altitude of 14,000 feet. But at 13,500 feet there was an explosion -- and the plane fell into sea. All on board were killed. President Ronald Reagan, as the Associated Press reported that Fourth of July weekend in 1988, soon issued a written statement. "This is a terrible...

In just two weeks, it will be twenty-eight years since Pan Am Flight 103 exploded at 31,000 feet over Lockerbie, Scotland – killing all 259 passengers as well as eleven citizens on the ground. And in a little less than one week, on December 14th, the “living wounded” of Pan Am Flight 103 will finally get their day in court. Sixteen days before this tragic act of terrorism, which included the murder of thirty-five Syracuse University students aboard, the U.S Embassy in Finland had been tipped off that a bomb was set to be placed on a plane out of...

During Tuesday night’s Democratic debate, Hillary Clinton ... obscures a largely forgotten moment in U.S. diplomacy: a period less than two years earlier when she and the Obama administration were actively cozying up to the “murderous” Gadhafi. “I am very pleased to welcome Minister Gadhafi here to the State Department,” she said, warmly greeting Mutassim Gadhafi, the Libyan dictator’s son and national security adviser, at the State Department in April, 2009. “We deeply value the relationship between the United States and Libya.” To be sure, the rapprochement with Gadhafi began under President George W. Bush in 2003 when the Libyan...

Former Iranian intelligence officer says Tehran ordered downing of plane over Lockerbie in retaliation for US attack on Iranian airliner. Who was responsible for the 1988 bombing of Pan Am flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland? While the Libyan government was thought to have masterminded the terrorist attack, a bombshell documentary by Al Jazeera quotes a former Iranian intelligence officer as saying that it was Iran that ordered the atrocity. The former agent, Abolghassem Mesbahi, who defected to Germany from Iran, is quoted by the Telegraph as saying that flight 103 was downed in retaliation for a US Navy strike on...

The mother of a former Port Jervis family that lost a daughter in the Pan Am 103 crash in 1988 says the bomber of the plane should have been left in jail to die. "The fact that he was able to get out and live with his family these past few years is an appalling miscarriage of justice. There was no excuse for that," said Susan Cohen of Cape May Court House, N.J. Sunday. Her daughter, Theodora, was among the Syracuse University students on the plane. "He should have died in the Scottish prison, he should have been tried in...

Koussa fled Libya to Britain on March 30, seeking refuge after quitting Gaddafi's government, reportedly to show his support for the Libyan rebel uprising and to protest against attacks by Gaddafi's forces on civilians. He was questioned by Scottish police over the 1988 Lockerbie bombing, but has not been under any travel restrictions. In a statement issued Thursday, Britain's Treasury said Koussa had been deleted from the EU financial sanctions list, removing a freeze on his assets. "We have done that -- it sends a powerful signal to other potential defectors that, if they are currently on a list, they...

LONDON -- Convicted Lockerbie bomber Abdelbasset al Megrahi returned to a hero’s welcome in Libya a year ago today. He’d been sentenced to life in prison for his role in the 1988 terror act against Pan Am flight 103, which left 270 people dead, most of them Americans. He was released by the Scottish government last year on what was called “compassionate grounds.” He has terminal cancer and it was claimed he had three months to live. He’s still alive. “This is a man who showed absolutely no compassion to anyone,” wife of a Lockerbie victim Stephanie Bernstein told Fox...

LONDON – Activists and relatives of those killed in the 1988 Lockerbie bombing raised new questions Sunday about the medical advice that led to the release on compassionate grounds of the only man ever convicted for the deaths. Doctors claimed Abdel Baset al-Megrahi had only three months to live when he was freed from a Scottish jail last August and allowed to return home to Libya. But one year later, Al-Megrahi, who is being treated for prostate cancer, is still alive.
