Watching the video of Sarah Palin’s appearance with William Shatner on the “Tonight Show” with Conan O’Brien, the one word that came to mind was style. Yet, there was more to it than that. After all, she entered the arena of late night television, a stage that has excoriated her routinely — the “enemy camp” as Chris Matthews might say. Mrs. Palin's has been scoffed at before by Mr. O’Brien. The show has featured William Shatner mocking Mrs. Palin’s tweets by reading them as dramatic recitations. Despite the biased media's attempt to paint a negative picture of Sarah Palin, her recent public appearances, including Oprah's, have served to convince Americans that she really is a pretty down-to-earth, very intelligent lady. She is, despite the constant attacks, becoming more and more popular with the American public. Her popularity, however, doesn't revolve solely around her political views. People are beginning to see that she is "real". She is not the "air-head" that the media has tried to portray. The Conan visit was fun – the best part was that we had Wounded Warriors with us in the audience. I can’t express how proud I am of their courage and patriotism. Sarah Palin made a surprise visit to The Tonight Show, proving she can read from a book at least as dramatically as William Shatner can. Conan O’Brien had Shatner on to do one of his periodic readings, this time from Palin’s bestseller Going Rogue. Palin says: "I think Bill did a great job, yeah, and I think it's only appropriate that I read a few choice excerpts from Mr. Shatner's autobiography..."
