Canada’s governing Liberals were one seat short of a simple majority in Parliament after a Conservative lawmaker defected and joined Prime Minister Mark Carney’s party Thursday. Michael Ma was the second Canadian Conservative opposition lawmaker to join the Liberals in just over a month. Ma, who represents Markham–Unionville, said he entered politics “to focus on solutions, not division.” “I have concluded that Prime Minister Mark Carney is offering the steady, practical approach we need to deliver on the priorities I hear every day while door knocking in Markham–Unionville,” Ma said in his statement. His move puts the Liberals one seat...

Elbows up, Canada! Crown Royal bottler closing down Ontario plant, moving operations to U.Shttps://t.co/KBqv7HZVRi— Global News Toronto (@globalnewsto) August 28, 2025That's right: The Canadian whiskey company is moving more of its operations to the U.S. to better help its "supply chain network." The company said it will still maintain a 'significant' footprint in Canada — including its headquarters and warehouse operations in the Greater Toronto Area, and bottling and distillation facilities in Manitoba and Quebec. McIntosh added the company's Crown Royal products will continue to be mashed, distilled and aged at its Canadian facilities. 200 jobs will be affected. Meanwhile,...

A man is facing assault charges for allegedly injuring an intruder at his home in Lindsay, Ont., according to local police. The Kawartha Lakes Police Service says it responded to a call on Kent Street at about 3:20 a.m. on Monday. According to police, the resident had woken up to find an intruder inside his apartment. The two had an "altercation" and the intruder suffered life-threatening injuries, police say, and was later airlifted to a Toronto hospital. Police say the resident is facing charges for aggravated assault and assault with a weapon. The alleged intruder, 41, is also facing charges,...

In Canada, free speech is no longer a thing. Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney utilized an August 5 press conference in British Columbia to dismiss concerns over Liberal legislation (Bill C-18) that would forbid news outlets from sharing news on social media, particularly during emergencies. The Canadian Commie globalist didn’t just refuse to rescind the aforementioned Bill C-18. No siree, he also urged his fellow Canucks to rely on government-funded CBC News for fair and unbiased information. In light of the fact that heads of government steadfastly refuse to tell the truth, I have taken the liberty to translate Carney’s...

Justin Trudeau’s career is the stuff of 21st-century political drama, with an arc that has taken him from glamorous liberal standard-bearer to the butt of jokes by US president-elect Donald Trump and his acolytes. Trudeau burst on to the international scene in 2015, a newly elected young leader of Canada whose father had also once been a popular prime minister. And he spent the next decade building a brand around being a feminist, an environmentalist, a refugee and indigenous rights advocate, pursuing the same message of change and hope as Barack Obama. While he drew fawning reviews in the news...

When he came to power in 2015, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was hailed as a progressive icon, a charismatic leftist with movie star good looks who promised to reform elections, tackle climate change and legalize marijuana. He quickly became one of the world’s best-known political figures, known for agenda-setting liberal policies — and for taking selfies with enraptured fans. “He was seen as this Canadian rock star,” said Duane Bratt, a political scientist at Mount Royal University in Calgary. Nine years later, Trudeau is deeply unpopular at home and fighting for his job amid growing calls that he step...

His critics call him Prime Minister Zoolander after the vacuous male model in the movie of the same name. But Canada’s Justin Trudeau is someone much more sinister. That’s been obvious ever since the PM turned the federal government’s power on the COVID-mandate-protesting truckers of Canada’s Freedom Convoy in 2022, jailing them, seizing their rigs and even shutting down their bank accounts (“debanking,” as it’s known) — though that last came to a swift end when enough Canadians withdrew their money to threaten a bank run. We were told the truckers were “right-wing extremists,” probably racist and possibly agents for...

This must be something akin to diversity being our strength or something along these lines. I mean vibrancy in 2023 is something else, we’re vibing. To combat a growing issue of human feces in public areas, parks in Canada are starting to place human poo bags and signs in English, French, and Hindi reminding people to pick up after themselves. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/wag-bag-program-squamish-1.6964938 Why do they need to be in english and french? I can’t imagine english and french speakers are sh*tting in public that much. Whatever.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) is calling out former President Trump for not spending more of his $100 million war chest to boost Republican Senate candidates ahead of next week’s midterm elections. “I will say by the way I wish Trump was spending some of his money,” Cruz said. “Trump’s got $100 million and he’s spending almost none of it to support these candidates.” Cruz also accused Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) of withholding critical political dollars from “pro-Trump” candidates, while funneling money into races where “moderates” and Trump critics are running. “It would be nice if Trump would spend...

U.S. drivers are allowed across the border right now if they're headed to Alaska, but the Canadian Pandemic Act says they'd better not dawdle on the way up. John Pennington, from Walton, Kentucky, was recently arrested in Banff for violating Canada's Quarantine Act... Pennington was allowed through the border thanks to a loophole of sorts that lets Americans drive from the Lower 48 through Canada and into Alaska (and vice versa), as long as they drive straight through, i.e., they can't go looking at the majestic Banff mountains. Canada's rules give drivers "a reasonable period" to make the drive and...

The Trudeau government will ban single-use plastics as early as 2021, CBC News has learned from a government source. Plastic straws, cotton swabs, drink stirrers, plates, cutlery and balloon sticks are just some of the single-use plastics that will be banned in Canada, according to the source. This is part of a larger strategy to tackle the plastic pollution problem that the government is expected to announce Monday.

The opening matchup of the 2019 NBA Finals between the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors made history last night, in more ways than one. Played before a sellout crowd in The 6, including one former Prime Minister and a very passionate Drake, Game 1 of this year’s championship series was the first to been played outside the U.S. and the first NBA Finals game to see a non-American team win. The Raptors’ 118-109 victory over the reigning champs showed that this battle for the Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy isn’t going to be a walk for Steph Curry and...

As people around the globe celebrate the New Year, for me 2019 is beginning just the way 2018 did — with a threat against me. Leading up to 2018, the threats against me were quite blatant, leading last year to the arrest of two would-be assassins in India. Even in Toronto, a Muslim cab driver pointed his fist at me in pistol fashion saying, “I have a special gun for you,” as he sped away. Yet towards the end of 2018, a much more subtler death threat was addressed to me, this time by the head of Canada’s newest aspiring...

Canada’s Minister of Environment and Climate Change is urging environmental activists to address the “gendered impacts” of climate change, especially its effects on women and girls. In a recent post on Twitter, Catherine McKenna, the 47-year-old Trudeau appointee from Canada’s Liberal Party, called on followers to “consider the gendered impacts of climate change on women, girls and children” while praising Canada’s leadership in training “women negotiators” in the fight against manmade global warming. Apparently, at least in the minister’s mind, the weather is now waging its own “war on women.”

It's interesting that every Halloween we have to hear from rabid race purists about how our toddlers will offend the sensibilities of minorities if they wear culturally insensitive costumes. These same people adore Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and fawn over his every move. #TrudeauInIndia is trending on Twitter, showing the Trudeaus in crazy get-ups they think are an Indian custom, which apparently they are not. I don't know, I'm not Indian, but neither is he. Is anyone concerned about the "cultural appropriation" he appears to be engaging in? If my kid can't be Pocahontas without some pink-haired harridan pointing...

Despite what you may have heard or read, Donald Trump has never filed for bankruptcy. His companies have, four times, but Donald Trump never has. The purpose of corporations is for investors to put a limited amount of capital at risk in exchange for the opportunity to earn money in any one of a myriad of legal ways. Investor use the corporate structure to ensure that if their bets go south, the most they can lose is the capital they invested in the first place. Corporate bankruptcy laws can give a company an opportunity to restructure its business in a...
