Pro-Palestinian students at the University of Washington occupied the Interdisciplinary Engineering Building Monday evening, renaming it the Shaban al-Dalou Building, in protest against the university's ties to Boeing. A separate group dressed in all black stacked furniture to create a blockade in front of the building before toppling dumpsters to block off nearby Jefferson Road, then confronted a security officer until he drove away.

Gov. Gretchen Whitmer told business leaders Monday the private sector needs to be part of the solution to increase funding for local roads. Whitmer made the pitch at the annual Governor’s Luncheon staged by the Macomb County Chamber, held this year at The Palazzo Grande in Shelby Township, attended by about 430 people, including a plethora of Macomb County politicians and business leaders. While Whitmer noted the celebratory mood in the county over securing a new fighter-jet mission at Selfridge Air National Guard Base last week, she brought up a renewed focus in the state to increase funding for local...

A Lewis and Clark statue featuring Sacagawea (also spelled Sacajawea), a famous Native American woman, was taken down in Charlottesville, Virginia, making it the third statue to be taken down in the city. The statue is of two White men – Meriwether Lewis and William Clark – and Sacagawea, who was depicted tracking, according to historians. Those against the statue have said Sacagawea appears to be cowering, according to The Daily Progress newspaper. “It was a very offensive statue, and not only did it delineate me as a Native American, it delineated our women and their role in society,” said...

Why not? I'm all for incentives set toward beneficial outcomes. And cost-savings, too .... assuming they materialize. Throughout the last presidential campaign, as well as in 2016, Donald Trump promised a massive exodus of illegal aliens from the US. In both campaigns, Trump promised to focus on expelling more dangerous criminals first, but claimed that enforcement would prompt many to "self-deport." That seems to be working now more than in the first term, not to mention the near-complete shutdown of new border crossings in larger scale. However, Trump's efforts at accelerated deportations have run afoul of the federal judiciary, threatening...

said Monday on CNN’s “The Source” that President Donald Trump’s tariffs hurt consumers who want cheap goods. Pence said, “I do have concerns, that with the president’s call for broad based tariffs against friend and foe alike that ultimately the administration is advancing policies that are not targeted at countries that have been abusing our trade relationship, but rather are essentially new industrial policy that will result in inflation, that will harm consumers and ultimately harm the American economy.”

Houthi terrorists got a lucky shot at Israel on Sunday with a missile strike near Ben Gurion Airport, wounding four — and the IDF wasted no time in striking back at prime Houthi-held real estate in Yemen. Details are still a bit thin, but the videos are... explosive. Reports vary — between 30 IAF jets and up to 50 in a joint operation with the U.S. — but either way, it was big. Sorting out the discrepancy during a breaking story isn’t easy, and not even the official statements are much help. A just-released statement from Israeli Prime Minister Bibi...

Younger Canadians stuck living with their parents and unable to afford starting families supported the Conservative Party. Liberals won anyway. The most memorable meme of the recent Canadian election campaign emerged from the line outside an Ontario microbrewery, where an older Liberal Party supporter named Matt Janes flashed two middle fingers to protesters agitating against Prime Minister Mark Carney. The obscenity went viral — with Janes becoming infamous as the Brantford Boomer — not just for its crass vulgarity, but for exposing the deep generational divide in Canada. Polls showed Canadians boomers overwhelmingly backing the successful Liberal campaign, which Carney centered on...

Are you tired of hearing about Trump’s 100 days? Well I am, because nothing could be more insignificant. So how did our last two-term presidents stand after 100 days? GW Bush was coming off a tough election and was on top of the political world in the midterm. He became the first president since FDR in 1934 to gain seats. Obama, on the other hand, walked on water and was about to win the Nobel Peace Prize. I was there and things didn’t look good for our side. Eighteen months later he got blown out in the 2010 midterms. What happened?...

Home Office translators are running a lucrative scam to spring illegal immigrants from detention, an undercover Mail investigation has discovered. Interpreters charge £3,000 to act as witnesses to lie to a judge and secure bail for Albanians caught coming into the UK with fake passports or on small boats and lorries. The bogus guarantors vouch for the immigrants who they promise the court will stay at their home if released. But in reality they have no connection with the detainees they testify on behalf of and are happy for them to live anywhere – including beyond the control of the...

The premier of the resource-rich Canadian province of Alberta said it will hold a referendum next year that could include a vote on whether to separate from Canada. Alberta Premier Danielle Smith doesn’t support separation, she said on the province’s government web site and her Facebook page, but added that in the event citizens in Alberta gather the necessary signatures, then a question about Alberta separation could be part of the 2026 ballot. “Our government will respect the democratic process,” she said. Her remarks are the latest salvo from the oil- and gas-producing province after the federal Liberals won a...

As delays continue to roil travel at Newark Liberty International Airport, United Airlines Inc.’s CEO announced plans to reduce its schedule. Air traffic controller staffing issues have been at the center – combined with technology failures and a runway rehabilitation project – that led to a nightmare scenario over the last week for travelers. The situation led United Chief Executive Officer Scott Kirby to cancel 35 flights per day from the Newark schedule, beginning over the weekend. “For many years, United has been very clear and vocal about the need to fix the Air Traffic Control system in EWR. While...

Mike Pence may be despised by his own supporters, but it appears he has many admirers in left-wing circles. The former vice-president, who betrayed President Trump and the entire MAGA movement by refusing to challenge the widespread fraud that tainted the 2020 presidential results, collected the “John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Award” on Sunday evening as recognition of his actions. Addressing the liberal audience, Pence described January 6th as a “tragic day” and took thinly veiled shots at the Trump administration. “Our institutions held that day, not because of any one person, but because leaders in both political parties,...

President Trump appeared to acknowledge Wednesday that toy shortages are possible as his tariff hikes ripple through the economy. The CEOs of Walmart, Target and Home Depot privately warned him last week about the likelihood of product shortages and price spikes. "Somebody said, 'oh, the shelves are gonna be open,'" Trump told reporters Wednesday. "Well, maybe the children will have two dolls instead of 30 dolls, and maybe the two dolls will cost a couple of bucks more."

Cash is dead. Speech is scored. Freedom is conditional.. ... Mark Carney didn’t rise through politics. He was not elected. He was installed — by the very institutions that profit most from technocratic control and public obedience. Goldman Sachs. The Bank of Canada. The Bank of England. The Financial Stability Board. The World Economic Forum. Bilderberg. The Trilateral Commission. The Council for Inclusive Capitalism. This is a man who has spent his entire adult life inside the machinery of global finance and elite governance. Now, he’s running a country. Carney is no fool. He speaks in the hushed tones of...

How much did this cost the American taxpayer? Failed Presidential candidate Kamala Harris and her grifter husband Doug Emhoff took 25 Secret Service Agents and bodyguards to date night at an exclusive New York bar on Sunday night. The pair reportedly made an appearance at The Polo Bar ahead of Monday’s star-studded Met Gala. The New York Post reported: Kamala Harris took more than two dozen bodyguards, including taxpayer-funded Secret Service agents to dine out with husband Doug Emhoff enjoyed...

Trump’s remarks signaled a potential addendum to an immigration enforcement agenda that is set to ramp up, featuring more frequent audits of paper and electronic Form I-9s by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement as well as increased worksite visits. The president has said that these moves are essential to enforcing immigration laws. But the pattern of enforcement operations may chill employers’ talent operations. Mary Pivec, attorney at Pivec & Associates PLLC, told HR Dive that the Trump administration’s targeting of foreign scientists, engineers and students teaching and studying in U.S. universities and laboratories would discourage key talent from migrating to...
