WASHINGTON (AP) — The National Prayer Breakfast, one of the most visible and long-standing events that brings religion and politics together in Washington, is splitting from the private religious group that had overseen it for decades, due to concerns the gathering had become too divisive. The organizer and host for this year's breakfast, scheduled for Thursday, will be the National Prayer Breakfast Foundation, headed by former Sen. Mark Pryor, D-Ark. Sen. Chris Coons, a regular participant and chairman of the Senate ethics committee, said the move was prompted in part by concerns in recent years that members of Congress did...

Dear friends, in light of today's Georgia elections and Electoral College vote count on the 6th, all that is now left to do is to continue to petition our Heavenly Father for our nation in light of our current dire national situation and dilemma that engulfs our land and media (Psalm 64, Phil. 4:6-7). I truly believe Almighty God has now allowed the full EXPONENTIAL weight and consequences of the past decades of lawlessness to fully reveal itself along with its lawless tyrannical chains of hopelessness! All systems are "now go!" for the godless and lawless demonic American Left! All...

And, Arthur, I don’t know if I agree with you. (Laughter.) But I don’t know if Arthur is going to like what I’m going to say. (Laughter.) But I love listening to you. It’s really great. Thank you very much. And thank you, congressmen, for...

President Donald Trump attended an interfaith service at the Washington National Cathedral on January 21st. It was a beautiful service until an Imam read from the Quran, cursing Christians and Jews. Of course he recited this prayer in Arabic so the only people attending who were able to understand him were most likely Muslim.

Here in Washington DC a national prayer service was originally scheduled for the National Cathedral (which is still closed due to the earthquake damage – see photo, right). It is now slated for the Kennedy Center. Yet, the “national” quality of the service is disputed by some, including Washington Examiner columnist Ken Klukowski who writes the following commentary. His remarks are bold, black italic text. My remarks are normal text red. The article here is excerpted the full text can be read here: Washington Examiner The National Cathedral is an Episcopal church, which is part of the worldwide Anglican Communion...

We found an interesting post on Palin, Religion & Left Wing Dogma at the blog, Wolf Howling: Steve Benen writing at Washington Monthly has his panties in a bunch. Apparently, he can't believe that Sarah Palin, actually believes that there was a role for religion within the outer ambit of the state at the time of our nations founding.Benen's arguments are full of more holes than Albert Hall, as the Wolf Howling post's author points out: What is astounding here is the degree of Mr. Benen's historical ignorance: There was no inherent tension between the First Amendment and Christianity at...

WASHINGTON (AP) - Television evangelist Pat Robertson, who has rattled the religious and political establishment with recent controversial declarations, acknowledged Thursday "my passion runs ahead of me" on some occasions. "I've been doing TV for years and years," Robertson said. "And the problem is, I ad lib." Interviewed on ABC's "Good Morning America" on the morning of the annual National Prayer Breakfast, Robertson was asked about statements suggesting that the United States assassinate President Hugo Chavez of Venezuela and intimating that Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's stroke was God's punishment for giving up the Gaza strip. Robertson sent a letter...

At this critical time in our nation's history, it is imperative that Christians join together in prayer for our troops who wage war against a merciless enemy. This column is designed to offer suggestions on how to effectively pray for our troops, our leaders and our nation during this time of war and social unrest. Praying for our troops "The angel of the Lord encamps all around those who fear Him, and delivers them" (Psalm 34:7, NKJV). I often reflect on this verse when praying for our military personnel now fighting for the liberation of Iraq. It is comforting to...
