  • Myths and Realities of the Russian/NATO NCO Systems

Interestingly enough, a Donbass commander relayed the story of how Ukraine faced disastrous losses in the SMO partly for this reason. When NATO came to overhaul the AFU into their much-vaunted Western NCO system, the Ukrainian officers subsequently saw opportunity to “pull back” from the frontline, considering that to be an obsolete “Soviet” tactic, and figuring the new NATO-trained sergeants can handle leading the charge. The problem is that in the U.S., as Ryan Mcbeth repeatedly emphasizes, sergeants undergo many years of progressive training in order to truly develop the leadership and famed “initiative”-building qualities touted in the West. You...

The Senate Armed Services Committee, right as the U.S. negotiates the removal of nuclear missiles from North Korea, is set to consider a new Army general to head U.S. forces on the Korean Peninsula. Gen. Robert “Abe” Abrams will testify in a committee hearing Tuesday on his nomination to command U.S. Forces Korea and two other key military commands in South Korea. The Army general would take charge of 28,500 troops stationed in the South after a year of rollercoaster relations, and as President Trump considers a second summit meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un on the regime’s...

It was another stellar week at the Pentagon. I knew the Pentagon was up to no good. They had been virtually in monastic silence as Barry Soetero tap danced his way through a chorus line number of cowardice and denial in response to the Orlando shooting. Speaking of chorus lines… Ash Carter came out of hiding yesterday and pounded a couple more nails into the US military’s coffin. The Pentagon is “likely” to repeal its ban on transgender service members next month, defense officials told Fox News Friday, even as one report claimed an announcement could happen as soon as...
  • Three pioneering women in Marine infantry course are asked to leave. Why?

Just weeks after three women passed a rigorous day-long test qualifying them to potentially lead US Marine infantrymen for the first time in history, news came that all three women have been asked to leave the course. They were physically disqualified from the training last week for falling behind in hikes while carrying loads of upwards of 100 pounds, says Maj. George Flynn, director of the Infantry Officers Course (IOC) at Quantico, Va.

U.S. Army Ranger Cpl. Josh Hargis was lying on a hospital bed in Afghanistan, hooked up to a breathing tube with his right hand heavily bandaged when he was awarded a Purple Heart for his valor in the battlefield. None of that, however, stopped Hargis, 24, from following military protocol and lifting his bandaged hand to salute the Ranger Regimental Commander who pinned the Purple Heart to his red, white and blue blanket. "Grown men began to weep and we were speechless at a gesture that speak[s] volumes about Josh's courage and character," one of the officers present in the...
  • Majority of sexual assaults and rapes committed in military in 2011 were against men

Rape is not just a nightmare for military women. Of the estimated 19,000 reported sexual assaults and rapes in the armed forces last year, the majority were actually committed against men. Men are assaulted at a lower rate — 1% of servicemen reported being attacked by a comrade last year versus 4.4% of women — but that still translates to more than 10,000 cases compared with 9,000 attacks on female recruits and officers.

LOS ANGELES (KNX 1070 NEWSRADIO) — As the Federal Aviation Administration helps usher in an age of drones for U.S. law enforcement agencies, the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV’s) domestically by the U.S. military — and the sharing of collected data with police agencies — is raising its own concerns about possible violations of privacy and Constitutional law, according to drone critics. A non-classified U.S. Air Force intelligence report obtained by KNX 1070 NEWSRADIO dated April 23, 2012, is helping fuel concern that video and other data inadvertently captured by Air Force drones already flying through some U.S. airspace,...

Pray For Our American Heroes and Our Nation The Whole Armor of God 10. Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. 11. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. 12. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. 13. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand...

The Obama administration's attempt to have it both ways with homosexuals in the military has failed, at least for the moment. The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals on Wednesday stayed a reckless lower court order that attempted to overturn the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" law prohibiting homosexuals from serving openly in the military. U.S. District Judge Virginia A. Phillips, a Clinton appointee, decided on her own authority that she would re-write the compromise enacted by Congress after years of contentious public debate that continues to this day. While Mr. Obama openly embraces what Judge Phillips tried to accomplish, as...

SOLNA, Sweden -- A Swedish Internet company linked to file-sharing hub The Pirate Bay says it's helping online whistle-blower WikiLeaks release classified documents from servers located in a Stockholm suburb. Mikael Viborg, the owner of the Web hosting company PRQ, on Friday showed The Associated Press the site -- the basement of a drab office building -- in Solna on the condition that the exact location was not revealed.

WASHINGTON, July 7, 2010 – At noon today, Defense Department officials e-mailed surveys to 400,000 servicemembers as part of a special review to prepare the military for a potential repeal of the so-called “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” law that bans gays and lesbians from openly serving, Pentagon officials announced today. Video Army Gen. Carter F. Ham, commander of U.S. Army Europe, and Jeh Johnson, the Pentagon’s top lawyer, head the review panel that’s assessing the current law. “The voice of the servicemembers is still vitally important,” the general said, noting that although amendments to the current law were approved by...

SEATTLE - Since hitting dramatic lows during the depths of the Iraq war five years ago, the U.S. Army's recruting numbers are making a strong comeback. Numbers from Seattle area recruiting offices show recruiters are successfully enlisting nearly three times the number of applicants as five years ago. The Army says in 2005 local recruiters only reached 32 percent of the goal for new enlistments. That number has grown steadily ever since and so far for 2010 the Seattle area stands at 84 percent of its goal. This is mirroring a trend across the nation where some states are actually...

Few details emerged Saturday on a reported threat at Fort Benning. Thursday a solider found a suspicious package and a note threatening a massacre similar to the Nov. 5 attack at Fort Hood, Texas, Elsie Jackson, post spokeswoman at Fort Benning confirmed Saturday. The anonymous note and package -- reported by The Army Times as a box of 20 hollow-point bullets -- were found Thursday morning outside a motor pool area at Fort Benning, located near Columbus. "There may be an update Monday," said Jackson Saturday. "But at this time there is an ongoing investigation of the incident." The discovery...

  • That 'pesky' Inconvenient History

General McChrystal has staked his entire reputation, not to mention the lives of our men and women in the field, on a counter insurgency strategy that almost exclusively focuses on population protection. His statement that 'success would be defined by the Afghans' harkens back to the Malayan Emergency and General Templer's contention that 'the answer lies not in pouring more troops into the jungle, but in the hearts and minds of the people'. The problem is, the insurgents in Malaya were different than the Afghan insurgency. Theirs was a political ideology. The 'insurgents' in Afghanistan are hardly an alienated element...

GRAND PRAIRIE TX - It's another day and another surgery for Airman Colton Read of North Texas. Wednesday the 20-year-old had more dead tissue removed from one of two amputated legs. Read lost his legs after a routine procedure took a turn for the worst at an Air Force hospital in Sacramento. Now the airman is fighting for his life and much of that fighting spirit can be traced back to Texas. "He was mature enough not to get into any trouble," said Read's grandfather, Sam DeBrow. "He was older than his years when he looked at things," DeBrow said...

The Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Gary Roughead announced in Annapolis recently that "diversity is the number one priority" at the Naval Academy. The Naval Academy superintendent, Vice Adm. Jeffrey Fowler, echoed him. Everyone understands that "diversity" here means nonwhite skins. Fowler insisted recently that we needed to have Annapolis graduates who "looked like" the Fleet, where enlisted people are about 42 percent nonwhite, largely African American and Hispanic. The stunning revelation last week was that the Naval Academy had an incoming class that was "more diverse" than ever before: 35 percent minority. Sounds good, only this comes with a...
