MCMINNVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - A former physical education teacher charged with having sex with a 13-year-old boy who attended the school where she worked agreed to a nine-month jail sentence in a plea deal Thursday and was immediately locked up. Pamela Rogers Turner, 28, entered a no contest plea that allowed her to avoid a scheduled November trial on multiple charges of having sexual intercourse and oral sex with the teenager during a three-month relationship that started in November. Pamela Rogers Turner was charged this week with 15 counts of sexual battery by an authority figure and 13 counts of statutory rape. Turner teaches and coaches at Centertown Elementary School in McMinnville. Prosecutor Dale Potter said some of the incidents were alleged to have taken place at the school, others at the student's home. DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. (AP) -- An English teacher and cheerleading coach in Douglas County has been suspended without pay after being accused of having a sexual relationship with a teenage male student. Authorities say they suspended the teacher identified as 27-year-old Kari McCarley at Alexander High School last week after another teacher overheard the boy talking about a relationship with McCarley. McCarley was released from jail on bond.

This story gets increasingly more curious. When it broke two days ago the common comment was - this 23 year old teacher must have had severe emotional or psychological problems to be chasing 14 year old boys down to have sex with in their cousin's car. She was also newly married to a handsome husband and supposedly was a dedicated teacher. The Tampa Bay Tribune has the first of any background stories I have seen on LaFave. From initial appearances it does not seem readily obvious that she was someone who had suffered from some sort of pattern of abuse....
