A man has been arrested in connection with the murders of three homeless men, and authorities believe he is also linked to another homicide in San Dimas. At a press conference on Saturday afternoon, Los Angeles Police Department Chief Michel Moore identified the suspect as Jerrid Joseph Powell, 33, of Los Angeles. Powell is alleged to be the gunman behind the murders of three homeless men across Los Angeles from Nov. 26 to Nov. 29. Police in Louisiana’s capital city have arrested two people for a mass shooting that left 12 others wounded at a nightclub in January. Two 19-year-olds, Nikeal Franklin and Jy’Shaun Jackson, were arrested Friday, the Baton Rouge Police Department said. Franklin was charged with 12 counts of attempted first-degree murder while Jackson was charged with 12 counts of principal to attempted first-degree murder. A man died after a shooting in Phoenix on Saturday evening, authorities said. Officers responded to the area of 12th Street and Highland Avenue just before 6:30 p.m. to calls of a shooting, the Phoenix Police Department said in a press release. A man with a gunshot wound, later identified as 24-year-old Aaron Duwan Frazier Jr., was found and transported to a local medical facility. He was pronounced dead at the hospital, authorities said. FOX 5 reports gunshots erupted Saturday around 8 p.m. following a “dispute between a group of teenagers and young adults” near Atlantic Station, in Atlanta, Georgia. One person was killed in the incident and five others wounded. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution notes that the shooting occurred after “a group of people were escorted off the property by Atlantic Station security and off-duty Atlanta officers.”

A man murdered the store clerk in the Chevron convenience store at Cliff Gookin and South Thomas St. in Tupelo Sunday morning. A spokesman for the Tupelo Police department said the clerk was shot in the head during a holdup attempt. The incident occurred about 9:30 a.m. The shooting victim was taken to North Mississippi Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. Tupelo Police Chief John Quarka said Chris Copeland, age 26, was arrested by Tupelo officers about four hours later at a Moore Avenue address. It is not yet clear what charges Copeland will face at his arraignment.

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON)– Shoppers at Westfield Mall in San Francisco ran for safety after a brawl broke out Sunday evening. Officers responded to the fight around 6:43 p.m. at the mall located at 865 Market Street. The first officers to arrive called for backup, Officer Robert Rueca said. The suspect in the murder of a San Antonio police detective was arrested Monday afternoon. San Antonio Police Chief William McManus said that 31-year-old Otis Tyrone McKane was taken into custody without incident at around 4:30 p.m. local time. McManus said authorities had pulled over a car McKane was a passenger in on Interstate 10, on the eastern edge of San Antonio. The car was being driven by a woman and a 2-year-old child was also in the vehicle. It was not immediately clear what connection McKane had to the woman and child.

An exasperated Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie T. Johnson said at a news conference that Derren Sorrells' ankle monitor wasn't active when 32-year-old Nykea Aldridge was shot and killed in front of a school on Friday.
