Former President Donald Trump’s commissioner of Customs and Border Protection told the local newspaper in El Paso, Texas that the new 30-foot high border wall’s steel beams were “impressive,” when he toured a stretch of it in August 2020.WATCH:Special Report: Spike in undocumented immigrants falling from border wall takes toll on border community“It really does, I think, physically represent exactly what we’ve been trying to do since Day One. That is to give Border Patrol increased operational capacity to do what they need to do to protect the country,” Commissioner Mark Morgan said.Nearly two years after, illegal border crossings are...

Rachel Bitecofer, a political analyst and senior adviser to the anti-Trump Lincoln Project, faced online criticism Sunday for mocking a Trump supporter's clunker. Bitecofer responded to a photo in an earlier post that showed a modest one-story home in Los Angeles with three flags on the garage: an American flag, a pro-Trump flag, and an "Impeach Biden" flag. Sitting outside the garage is an older cream-colored car. The original poster captioned the photo: "Spotted in Los Angeles, the fun neighbor." Bitecofer posted, "Republican voter who can’t even afford a car from this century."

In his recently published book, Hoax: Donald Trump, Fox News and the Dangerous Distortion of Truth, cable news personality Brian Stelter only tells the tabloid version. As noted in the New York Times, Hoax relies on "gratuitous gossip" and "name calling" to deliver an "easy-to-digest but unnuanced conclusion that would play well on cable news." Stelter invites his target readers—college-educated white liberals who probably would've been more excited about a Warren-Buttigieg ticket but can't wait to vote for Biden because the future of our country is at stake—to gorge themselves on righteous anger, the most profitable emotion.

http://durangoherald.com/sections/Features/Columnists/Population_Matters…Abortionist Richard Grossman falsely claimed in the Durango Herald that “Anyone who graduated from an eighth-grade health class knows that the start of the biological development is the human egg.â€Dr. Grossman says that the problem with Colorado’s Amendment 62 is that it claims that my “eggsâ€â€“ even those still safely ensconced in my ovaries – are people.Amendment 62 does not talk about eggs, nor does it apply to eggs. It applies to people. Amendment 62 simply says that the term ‘person’ shall apply to every human being. Does abortionist Grossman really believe that women have thousands of human beings hanging...

In his Inaugural Address, President Obama spoke directly to the world's rogue nations. "[W]e will extend a hand," he said, "if you are willing to unclench your fist." Question: How many rogue nations can you hold in one hand? Let's try to count. Iran remains rogue No. 1. The world is riveted by the expanding Iranian nuclear threat, and one might expect a mess of this magnitude would occupy most of the diplomatic energies of any presidency. But this one has time for more. Daniel Henninger discusses Obama's "open hand diplomacy" with rogue regimes. . The Monday after last Friday's...

President Obama has cut off communication with Republican leaders, going more than four months without hosting the bipartisan congressional leadership at the White House to discuss his health care proposal, the No. 2 Republican in the House said Wednesday. Minority Whip Eric Cantor, Virginia Republican, told The Washington Times that health care reform has been an "utter disaster" for Mr. Obama and predicted if he pushes through a public option as part of a final bill, Republicans will win back at least one chamber of Congress in the 2010 elections. Mr. Cantor said Mr. Obama initially asked for Republican help...

The humor in this video is unquestionable. Whether or not you agree with a public mandate does not even matter. Stephanopoulos tries his hardest to actually question Obama, but of course Obama will not have it.

Barack Obama will renew his commitment to green America's economy and join international action on global warming in a speech to the United Nations climate change summit on Tuesday. The appearance is a chance to offer much needed assurances to nearly 100 world leaders that the president can deliver on his promise for early action on climate change – now that the issue has taken second place to health care in the Senate. The delay has added to uncertainty that the Senate will move forward on a bill to reduce greenhouse gas emissions before the crucial climate change summit at...

Health bill says 'tax' when President Obama said 'not' By: Chris Frates and Mike Allen September 21, 2009 09:06 AM EST In the most contentious exchange of President Barack Obama’s marathon of five Sunday shows, he said it is “not true” that a requirement for individuals to get health insurance under a key reform plan now being debated amounts to a tax increase. But he could look it up — in the bill. Page 29, sentence one of the bill introduced by Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus (D-Mont) says: “The consequence for not maintaining insurance would be an excise...

Abortion-rights groups have until next week to appeal the language of a proposed ballot measure that would define a fertilized egg, either inside or outside the womb, as a person. The secretary of state's three-person title board on Wednesday crafted language for a constitutional amendment that would ban abortions. It would define humans as existing from the moment of fertilization and extend the Colorado Constitution's inalienable rights, equality of justice and due process of law to them. Arguments by reproduction rights attorney Kara Veitch that the measure's language be rejected—on the grounds it wasn't a single-subject measure because it applies...

UNITED NATIONS (AP) - Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, the co-chairman of a congressional task force to examine United Nations reform, said Friday he was impressed with U.N. officials' apparent desire to fix the world body. Gingrich, a Republican, said U.N. officials recognized that the opportunity was right after years of promises that had brought no significant change. "There was no argument today about the fact that there are systems that just don't work, there are patterns that just aren't acceptable," Gingrich told reporters during a visit to the United Nations. He was accompanied by fellow co-chair George Mitchell, a...

COLCHESTER, England (Reuters) - It is the home of Humpty Dumpty, Old King Cole and Camelot -- or so legend has it. But archeologists raking over the past can now go one better for the English city of Colchester. After painstaking excavation work they have proof of real heroes from the ancient world. Last month they revealed the remains of a Roman Circus or chariot racing track. In the past 30 years archeologists in the city have unearthed evidence dating back to Roman rule over 2,000 years ago, rewriting British history along the way. The circus underlines the city's importance...

Before we get rolling on John Kerry’s commitment to a “global test” for American foreign policy, let’s take a look at the latest giant leap for mankind that took place over the Mojave Desert in California this week. The two events are related, in a curious way. SpaceShipOne was an ugly duckling, designed by Burt Rutan for the precise purpose of winning the Ansari X Prize of $10 million. A generation from now, no one will remember the name of the prize, only the fact of the first private, entrepreneurial step into space. Just like no one today remembers the...
