The US military base at Pearl Harbor was placed on lockdown Tuesday for “a potential security threat,” according to authorities and reports. “Gates have been secured at JBPHH,” officials at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickham said on Twitter. “We will provide additional updates as they become available.” In a statement, the base added, “There has been a potential security incident board Joint Base Pearl Harbor.” Officials said also said that personnel at the base near Honolulu have been ordered to “shelter in place” — with the Honolulu Star-Advertiser saying the threat was a possible bomb aboard a Navy ship there.
