Chang, Class of 2021 Student Body president, led her fellow students Friday to their graduation ceremony at the Ron Martin Athletic Field on campus. As the 258 students arrived, blaring horns and cheers erupted as emcee Councilmember Bernard Carvalho, a ‘79 alum, introduced the class.
Family and friends, contained in their cars, gathered in a drive-thru fashion to witness the Kapa‘a Warrior Class of 2021 students wrap up their senior year, including 33 valedictorians, of which Jotis Russell-Christian is the best of the best.

Definition of valedictorian. : the student usually having the highest rank in a graduating class who delivers the valedictory address at the commencement exercises.
So 33 people had the 'highest' rank. Yea, seems reasonable....
Only 33? What a joke.
No, only the elite circle gets to share in the title. Not everybody gets named to this exalted level.
Some are more equal than others. All the smart people must stick together.
Did all 33 give the obligatory Woke speeches? SMH!
Did all that honking trigger the students?
Are they called poi-boys on the Islands now?
Who çares?
I’ll bet that school doesn’t work it that way way for their sports.
Gonna need a day and a half listening to all those speeches.
Title and grade inflation is why they created standardized testing.
Schools were boosting GPAs and making honor students of mediocre students.
258 graduating students but ONLY 33 valedictorians? THAT’S NOT EQUITABLE! There are 225 students being disadvantaged. BURN THAT SCHOOL DOWN!

You just solved an equation and stated a math fact. Exclusive correct answers aren’t allowed. That’s racist. /s
What about the other 225 graduates, why not give them a participation trophy?
What are the average and median GPA and standardized test scores for students at this school?
No grade inflation here, lol.
“So 33 people had the ‘highest’ rank. Yea, seems reasonable....”
I guess with basic determinations of the system, anyone that meets the standards of graduation can be a valedictorian. And since no student can get better than an “A” and has the possibility of being the class leader in GPA which is what it is measured by, then it proves it is trying to be nothing more than a pass/fail system: perfection and anything else. And in the real world, the competitive one, they don’t give participation medals.

They did. It's called a diploma.
“...33 valedictorians, of which Jotis Russell-Christian is the best of the best.”
Everybody scored the touchdown! Even the opposing team.
