Hurricane Sandy victims in Staten Island are suffering far more than is being reported. Won’t you please help? We need help feeding our neighbors whose lives have been destroyed. We need your prayers as well. The Red Cross and FEMA are doing very good work, but even they are falling behind. I am a volunteer at a relief center set up by and for ordinary Staten Islanders with no government help. We are retired New York City Police Officers and Firemen. I know there are some FReepers out there who know how to capture "stills" or freeze frame from digital video footage. I need to put together a series of photos for a 25 year anniversary "retrospective" musical performance. The goal is to try to capture some "action shots" of these musical performances from 25 yr. history of video footage and work them up into a Powerpoint presentation which we can project onto the auditorium theater wall for the upcoming 25th anniversary shows (3 shows in one weekend). WASHINGTON -- The FDA has withdrawn approval for a drug used to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder because it has been associated with liver problems, including death, agency officials said Monday. The move means drug manufacturers will no longer produce generic versions of pemoline, which was developed by Abbott Laboratories and sold under the name Cylert. Abbott discontinued the drug earlier this year, but generic versions have remained available. Help needed. My computer won't boot. It steadily declined. First it started shutting down without notice, when I restarted it it started in safe mode and I didn't find anything wrong. Next reboot I got the message CMOS error. The processor speed, date, and time were all listed wrong in the setup. I corrected the time and the computer would not boot to windows. I reaccessed the setup utility and set the settings to match the ones in the user manual under the bios section. Now the computer won't boot to the basic startup (black screen listing processor, ram, etc...)....

Not doing my homework, folks, just need some back-up. Yesterday, I enrolled for the last classes I need before graduation. One is economics, and I met the professor, who told me he thinks the New York Times is too conservative. This is going to be a long and miserable semester unless I can argue every stupid point that comes up. I am guessing he's at least socialist leaning. I know less than nothing about economics, except that I want my taxes cut. Can anyone suggest an ongoing source for correcting the propaganda?

Does anybody know anything about this company. I recieved a letter from this company about some stock I bought thru Merril Linch in the early 80s. For years I could find no info on this stock and the broker only said my account was closed. The stock was also no longer listed on the over the counter market. I was active in the futures market and bought penny stocks with all winnings.

HELP! My PC is giving me an "error reading drive C" message and it won't boot. I have been told that the hard drive has kicked the bucket and all I can do is replace it. Fine, but I have oodles of my children's pictures in that hard drive!I know, I know, I should have burned disks with those pictures, and from now on I will, but I'm devastated at the loss.
