GRAVESEND, Brooklyn (PIX11) — A Brooklyn man is accused of hitting a 71-year-old man in the face with a shovel a couple of days after Christmas, police said. Sean Abt, 24, was arrested Tuesday and charged with assault in connection with the Dec. 27 attack in Brooklyn, according to the NYPD. Abt allegedly smacked the victim in the face with a shovel after an argument near Stryker Court and West 1st Street in Gravesend at around 11:30 a.m., police said. COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS/Gray News) - The loved ones of a 29-year-old South Carolina man who was fatally struck by a car while crossing the street with his girlfriend are doing their best to cope with his loss as the suspect is being held without bond. Malcolm D. Johnson, 29, died after he was hit by a car Sunday night in downtown Columbia, according to Richland County Coroner Naida Rutherford.

MIDTOWN, Manhattan (WABC) -- Kerri Aherne, the woman who allegedly stabbed a tourist from California in a Macy's bathroom as the victim was changing her 10-month-old daughter, was previously arrested in Massachusetts for threatening to kill Senator Elizabeth Warren, according to the Manhattan district attorney's office.

Court documents revealed that the woman murdered at the Morgantown Motel was the suspect’s sister. Karol Crosco, 49, of Garrett County, Md., stabbed the woman in the chest and told police he had bought the murder weapon — a kitchen knife, which was found at the scene covered in blood — on the day prior with the intention of killing his sister. Crosco also told police he stole the car specifically to drive to his sister’s motel room.

A 33-year-old Wilmington man named Eliot Watkins was reported to be unclothed and causing damage to hotel property; he was also reported approaching hotel guests in the lobby. A Morris man has been arrested and charged with murder for shooting and killing another man from Morris. 58-year-old David Hand shot and killed 71-year-old Lynn Barton on November 7, 2025. Barton’s family contacted the Otsego County Sheriff’s Office, reporting they hadn’t seen him for more than two days.
