GRAVESEND, Brooklyn (PIX11) — A Brooklyn man is accused of hitting a 71-year-old man in the face with a shovel a couple of days after Christmas, police said.
Sean Abt, 24, was arrested Tuesday and charged with assault in connection with the Dec. 27 attack in Brooklyn, according to the NYPD.
Abt allegedly smacked the victim in the face with a shovel after an argument near Stryker Court and West 1st Street in Gravesend at around 11:30 a.m., police said. The man was taken to the hospital for treatment.
The suspect then fled the scene before he was apprehended on Tuesday. Abt’s arraignment was pending on Wednesday.
I’ll bet you a dollar that this Sean Abt guy has a long arrest record, filled with probations and dismissals. And he will continue to get more probations and dismissals.
Rudy Giuliani certainly was right. Ignore the small crimes, and you’ll get more of the bigger crimes.

A seventy-one-year-old man should have a relative willing to explain to Abt how a shovel feels to the face. Wouldn’t that look good for arraignment?
I’m really at the point where I think we need a more violent society. If the trouble makers found themselves receiving trouble, they would change their ways. The police don’t help. The courts don’t help. Maybe squads of volunteers would help.

But considering where he lives, that might not mean much.
