Britain Gets Over-Surveillance Warning By Staff Apr 29, 2007 Britain's information commissioner is poised to tell the government it's gone too far with anti-terror video surveillance measures. The Independent reported Sunday that Richard Thomas will warn a parliamentary committee about the "slow social suicide" he claims the country is committing with its video cameras, which number about 4 million, or one for every 14 people. The Home Affairs Select Committee is holding hearings into the expansion of surveillance that includes monitoring microphones being placed in street lamps and offices, the London newspaper said.

OLATHE, Kan. -- Twelve people were treated for carbon-monoxide poisoning early Monday morning. Emergency crews were called to a duplex in the 200 block of South Lake.
