Foot Locker is relocating its headquarters to Florida from New York. The footwear retailer said Wednesday the city of St. Petersburg will become its new corporate headquarters come late 2025. Foot Locker said it was seeking to "further build on the Company’s meaningful presence in St. Petersburg and to enable increased collaboration among teams across banners and functions, while also reducing costs." The retailer already has a "very meaningful commercial and executive team presence" in St. Petersburg, according to CEO Mary Dillon. The company won’t be requiring relocation for workers, she told analysts and investors. "Historically, that was originally the...

Foot Locker announced Wednesday the sneaker retailer will move its headquarters from New York City to Florida to escape the Empire State’s high costs. “To better support our strategic progress, to increase team member collaboration, as well as ongoing expense discipline, we made the decision to relocate our headquarters to St. Petersburg, Fla.,” CEO Mary Dillon said in a statement. The company said it would maintain only a limited presence in the city moving forward. Its sister brand, Champs, was previously headquartered in St. Petersburg. The move is expected to be completed by late 2025.

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) — Foot Locker announced during a recent investor meeting that it plans to close more than 400 stores inside shopping malls, according to Business Insider. Foot Locker says the closures are part of its newest business plan that it refers to as “Lace Up.” The plan is meant to act as a “reset” for the retail sneaker chain. Part of the reset includes the closing of 400-plus shopping mall locations and then the start of opening free-standing store locations for niche audiences, according to Business Insider. Though Foot Locker will be closing an estimated 420 low-performing stores...

Footlocker stores in Minnesota were looted and trashed once again despite the company having donated $200 million dollars to Black Lives Matter causes in the past year. Minnesota has been hit with yet more violent unrest over the last two nights in response to the police killing of Daunte Wright, who was shot by a female officer who mistook a gun for a taser. Footage from Sunday night showed looters breaking into a shoe store and stealing Nike trainers, because apparently justice for Daunte Wright looks an awful lot like getting your hands on a brand new pair of Air...

A man was killed in a Christmas Eve shooting inside the crowded Oakwood Center mall, and a suspect has been arrested, the Jefferson Parish sheriff said. Sheriff Newell Normand said the shooting occurred about 4:20 p.m. Wednesday (Dec. 24) at the Footlocker shoe store. The victim, identified by authorities as 24-year-old Harvey resident James Vaughn, had just made a purchase when a gunman walked up and opened fire from about three feet away, Normand said. At least three shots were fired, he said. The gunman ran, but a suspect was taken into custody several blocks away from the mall after...

The army-issue footlocker had not been to combat since World War II. Now it serves his son in Operation Iraqi Freedom 3. CAMP TAJI, Iraq, Aug. 20, 2005 — The old footlocker had been semi-retired for nearly 50 years. Oh sure, it had been used for storage.
