It’s just the flu, bro. Reports on Twitter (with video) show 5 politicians doing a surprise inspection of a hospital that has seen 200 people die due to Coronavirus and treated 5000 cases. It turns out that the “hospital” was empty and was just milking government funds with fake Corona patients. I don’t know what is fake news and what is not fake news in Brazil, but I do know that reported Coronavirus cases and deaths go up the more a government pays special funds for treating the disease.

Harris County (Houston) Judge Higaldo is looking to reimpose various lockdown restrictions - she says because the cases of CV are going up, but I say it’s because the Floyd riots seem to be over and it is time to punish the economy. I hope the pressure on her to continue easing restrictions stops her from doing what her totalitarian instincts tell her to do.

But then with an appeal in Oregon and new county by county rules in Wisconsin it seems we still have enforceable rules in both states. Where is a state with pure freedom - a few non-enforceable guidelines but nothing to worry about? A judge in Texas ruled in favor of widespread mail in ballots. It’s just the flu, bro. Oregon courts have done the same as Wisconsin courts and struck down their stay at home order. Texas has permitted more businesses to open - but it is not enough as restrictions have been put in place. CV cases have just plummeted in some states, especially NJ. I worry about kids’ sports...many are still shut down. Sport builds children’s character and help make them healthy. It is maddening that restrictions on those haven’t been eliminated. Are there any Catholic Churches in the US that have removed masks and social distancing?

This American Life is airing a new episode today titled "Retraction." The title and show are a direct response to the January 6th edition of the popular public radio program titled "Mr. Daisey and the Apple Factory," an adaptation of a one-man show that helped put Cupertino's involvement with Foxconn back in the public spotlight. The public radio show This American Life has retracted an entire storyline told by comedian and self-described Apple fanboy Mike Daisey that aired in early January after Daisey's translator said he made up significant details of the tale. In a press release, the show says the episode was the most popular in its history and was downloaded 888,000 times. The episode also sparked a petition for Apple to improve its working conditions that was signed by a quarter of a million people.
