The good news first: As RedState has been reporting, Christopher Wray is on his way out as director of the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI). President-elect Donald Trump called it a "great day for America as it will end the Weaponization of what has become known as the United States Department of Injustice" and promised his new administration "will now restore the rule of law for all Americans." Trump also signaled his support for Kash Patel, his nominee to succeed Wray as FBI director. "We want our FBI back, and that will now happen," Trump wrote, as he ended his...

The proof of Tren de Aragua’s violence in Aurora, Colo., is written in blood. A fed-up landlord in the Denver suburb has shared a bloody photo of one of its workers after the man was allegedly beaten to a pulp by members of the brutal Venezuelan prison gang for refusing to let them stay in a vacant apartment they had taken over. The Brooklyn-based company claimed that the gang effectively stole entire apartment complexes out from under it by threatening employees and tried to extort it for a cut of the rent in exchange for being allowed to keep operating...

Boston mob boss James ‘Whitey’ Bulger, 89, was murdered by a fellow inmate with ties to the mafia in a West Virginia federal prison shortly after he was transferred there. According to one congressman, Mueller and those serving under him in the FBI aided Bulger in eliminating mob competitors and recently Mueller turned over an alleged scheme to pay off women to fabricate sexual assault allegations against him to the FBI. The murder occurred outside of the field of vision of security cameras where Bulger was beaten with a lock in a sock and had his eyes gouged out. The...

The FBI's handling of child sexual abuse investigations must improve, an internal watchdog said in a new report released on Thursday. The report comes more than 3 years after it came to light that the FBI was aware of U.S. gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar molesting female athletes but did not act quick enough. "The DOJ OIG found that further improvements are needed to build upon the FBI’s recent changes to its crimes against children and human trafficking (CAC/HT) program to ensure it appropriately addresses child sexual abuse allegations," read a summary of the report.

Newly uncovered documents that had been hidden from the American public for eight years show the FBI knew in 2016 that Hunter Biden and his business partners eyed a venture in tax-friendly Liechtenstein that would have capitalized on a $120 million investment from the Ukrainian energy firm Burisma Holdings. The evidence concerning the Liechtenstein deal were among the 3.39 million documents seized by the FBI from Hunter Biden and his business partners in 2016. The documents, viewed by Just the News, were turned over by Hunter Biden's former business partner Devon Archer to the House Oversight Committee as part of...

Attorney General Merrick Garland this week called for “attacks” against the Justice Department to stop, in a rare op-ed a day before the House voted to hold him in contempt of Congress for refusing to comply with a congressional subpoena. Garland said in the piece, which appeared in the Washington Post on Tuesday, that in recent weeks, there have been an “escalation of attacks that go far beyond public scrutiny, criticism, and legitimate and necessary oversight of our work,” and claimed that the attacks are “baseless, personal and dangerous.” He suggested the attacks were coming from Trump supporters, in response...

The FBI released a new batch of heavily redacted Capitol Hill protest records on its website Friday, showing that the bureau executed “disruptions” inside MAGA groups ahead of the Jan. 6, 2021, Stop the Steal rally. In the context of FBI operations, the term “disruption” was made famous in the 1970s, when the FBI’s controversial Counterintelligence Program, or COINTELPRO, was revealed to the public. “Disruption operations” can include criminal arrests, but in the COINTELPRO era they referred to undercover FBI agents and informants infiltrating political groups to sow discord—employing tactics such as spreading rumors, sleeping with other members’ wives and...

Attorney General Merrick Garland called attacks on the U.S. Department of Justice "dangerous for our democracy" on Tuesday as the GOP-led House prepares to hold him in contempt of Congress. "Continued unfounded attacks against the Justice Department's employees are dangerous for people's safety. They are dangerous for our democracy. This must stop," Garland wrote in a Washington Post op-ed. Garland has refused to turn over an audio recording of President Biden's interview with special counsel Robert Hur for the investigation into Biden's handling of classified documents. This prompted House Republicans to hold him in contempt.

The special prosecutor’s overreach and the trial judge’s open bias are equally disturbing. Just when you thought the “swamp” judicial system could sink no lower, an Elon Musk-X petition to the Supreme Court reminds us about Jack Smith’s and a leftist judge’s complete disrespect for Americans’ constitutional freedom from intrusive government searches. The information emerges in X Corp.’s petition for a writ of certiorari relating to a court order arising from a search warrant that special counsel, Mr. Jack Smith (yes, that one), served on X demanding data and records from former President Donald Trump’s Twitter account. The problem from...

More than 14 months after a trans psychopath stormed into Nashville’s Covenant School and gunned down three 9-year-olds and three staff members, the police department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation refuse to publicly release the killer’s “manifesto.” A newly obtained FBI memo to Metro Nashville Police Chief John Drake suggests what many have long suspected: President Joe Biden’s identity politics-steeped Department of Justice is leading a cover-up of the deadliest transgender-directed shootings in U.S. history. “We have a lot of other documents from the investigation in our possession. And after reviewing them … I will tell you I am...

There's a reason federal agencies used to stay out of politics, but it appears the Obama generation never thought it meant them. Now we get Andrew McCabe, the fired former FBI deputy director, attempting to whip up sympathy in the press for FBI agents who have turned that agency into the internal security apparatus of the Democrat party. According to Breitbart News:CNN analyst and former FBI chief Andrew McCabe said Wednesday on CNN’s “The Source” that people in the intelligence and law enforcement community were worried if former President Donald Trump is elected again, they would be “thrown in jail...

There’s no way in hell they shouldn’t tell all’.. The FBI is closing the book on the agency’s “corrupt” handling of James “Whitey” Bulger — forever. The feds are refusing to make any further installments of Bulger’s case file public, saying the records are “investigative” and no longer subject to the Freedom of Information Act. “The records responsive to your request are law enforcement records; there is a pending or prospective law enforcement proceeding relevant to these responsive records, and release of the information could reasonably be expected to interfere with enforcement proceedings. Therefore, your request is being administratively closed,”...

Six FBI officials stationed abroad engaged in sexual activities with prostitutes, including visits to karaoke bars, massage parlors, and gentlemen's clubs, according to a report released by the Justice Department's internal watchdog, reported NPR. The report, disclosed in response to a Freedom of Information Act request dated Oct. 20, 2021, spans 37 pages but with redactions concealing the identities of the involved officials and the countries where the incidents occurred. However, it reveals details about the misconduct, highlighting violations of Justice Department and FBI protocols, which could expose agents to potential extortion or blackmail. Among the findings, one official paid...

There’s been a war, and Hamas terrorists and their supporters are coming out of the woodwork, so this story got buried. If you’re Joe Biden, you’re probably happy about it. The media can fawn over how you were supposedly pivotal about this recent Israel-Hamas hostage ceasefire based on hostage releases. However, none of the Americans held by the terrorists have been set free. Anyway, it’s better to get knocked for that than being besieged by questions surrounding the FBI’s army of informants feeding information about you and your family’s alleged shady deeds to those in the J. Edgar Hoover Building....

The Department of Justice (DOJ) obtained private communications and other personal records of multiple Republican House and Senate staffers who were investigating the department’s role in the origins of the Russia collusion hoax, according to former senior Trump administration official Kash Patel. A recently-revealed subpoena shows that the DOJ sought the records for not only Patel when he was an investigator for then-Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA), but also those of Jason Foster, who was at the time chief investigative counsel to then-Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (I-IA) and was also looking into the DOJ’s role in the hoax.

The FBI took over a 2020 probe into voter registration fraud that began in Michigan but has denied a Freedom of Information Act request regarding the investigation, citing an exemption in that law regarding ongoing investigations. According to the dozens of pages of police reports from the Muskegon Police Department and Michigan State Police, a firm called GBI Strategies was under scrutiny as an organization central to alleged voter registration fraud in the 2020 presidential election. The matter was initially investigated by city and state authorities before the FBI took over. Contacts between local law enforcement and the FBI continued...

“There’s literally been no explanation,” Pearsons said. “I think you have to assume that it’s the simplest explanation, and I think, unfortunately, the simplest explanation is they took it or lost it.” ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The nonprofit law firm Institute for Justice has filed two lawsuits on behalf of clients who allege that the FBI failed to return valuable rare coins and other property it took during a March 2021 FBI raid on the Beverly Hills–based U.S. Private Vaults. “We don’t know for sure how the property disappeared, we just know it disappeared,” Joe Gay, an attorney with the Institute for Justice,...
