Last week, Ivan Drago became an American citizen. At 66, Dolph Lundgren is still well preserved enough to bring to mind his most famous role, which he reprised in 2018’s "Creed II." But the image of the former communist menace holding a tiny American flag in front of a Homeland Security emblem would have had much more symbolic weight had he done it 40 years ago. Today the fearsome Drago mainly summons fond memories of a simpler time, when it was easy to tell who our enemies were. He's also a nostalgic reminder of Hollywood blockbuster moviemaking at its peak....

This week, the man who played perhaps the most iconic Communist character of 80s cinema (Sorry, moustachioed dudes of “Red Dawn”) reflected on why he left his home country for America in an interview with Adam Carolla. Swedish-born Dolph Lundgren, already a karate champion, came to America as an engineering student. Somewhere between MIT and martial-arts tournaments, he became a body guard for Grace Jones, was photographed by Andy Warhol, and got cast as a virtual unknown...

Please don't mind the Frankenstein singing (I'm sure Dolph himself doesn't care, just watch him deal with a truckload of ice at 1:40 of this clip).. Rather impressive for "an older guy".
