FALLS, Pa. — A Pennsylvania woman used a shovel to kill a cobra she saw slithering on the patio of her apartment. Kathy Kehoe says the squawking of some blue jays outside her unit caught her attention Monday. When she looked outside, she saw a 4 to 5-foot-long serpent. The dogs were pit bulls or pit bull mixes, said John Welsh, a spokesman for Riverside County Animal Services. They have been impounded. “Her injuries were described to the responding officer as severe,” Welsh said. The woman, who is not the owner of the dogs, was attacked on her property on Mitchell Road about 10 a.m. while doing laundry, Animal Services Sgt. Lesley Huennekens said. There were no witnesses. Investigators are still trying to determine why the attack happened. Animal Services has identified the dogs’ owner, Welsh said. The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department is also investigating the attack.

CINCINNATI, Ohio - An Ohio neighborhood is in shock after a woman was killed by her own dog. Neighbors say her 4-year-old son ran out of the house Wednesday to get help for his mother, who was having a seizure. When first responders arrived they found the unresponsive woman being attacked by her mixed breed dog. Police were called in to assist, and when they tried to enter the home, the dog charged. SUFFOLK, Va. — A man allegedly shot a pit bull while trying to help a woman who was attacked by the dog Wednesday around 12 p.m. The woman was in the 100 block of Chestnut Street when the dog reportedly latched onto her hand and would not let go. This is when the man, in an attempt to help the woman, shot the pit bull killing it, according to Suffolk Police. The woman was able to drive to the hospital for treatment. She has already been released from medical care. Police tell News 3 the incident remains under investigation.

On Thursday, August 9, 2018, a resident of a Lake Tillery development on the western side of Montgomery County went missing while taking her daily walk. After several hours the 66 year old female did not return home. Her husband called neighbors and friends who searched the area. They were unable to locate her and call 911. An 18-month-old girl suffered serious wounds to her face when she was mauled by her grandmother’s pit bull — the second time the same dog attacked a child, officials said Sunday. Authorities say around 12:30 p.m. on April 15, a 25-year-old man was assaulted and robbed after leaving a restaurant on B and Tioga Streets. An Indiana University student was arrested over the weekend after police say he attacked a Muslim woman, yelling racially charged comments at her and trying to remove her headscarf. In federal court in Houston on Friday, Conrad Alvin Barrett was sentenced to prison followed by three years of probation. A former UPS driver has sued Joe Namath, alleging he was attacked by the Hall of Fame quarterback's dogs while making a delivery at his Florida Home. Attorneys for David Gunter say he hasn't been able to work since the 2007 incident in Tequesta, about 90 miles north of Miami. Lawyer Steven Slootsky says Gunter required four surgeries after suffering injuries to his neck, back and knee.... Gunter isn't the only one to have problems with Namath's dogs.
