Last week, I was working at a chemical plant southeast of Richmond, VA. Friday at 1730, I left and headed towards DC where I planned to meet the Free Republic outside the gates of Walter Reed. They have held a weekly vigil there for well over 2 years no matter the weather holding American flags and signs showing love and support for our troops in harm's way and especially our wounded warriors.

Newbie FReepers PatrioticMarineMom (Yvonne Bates) and RockerMom2MyHero started a Gathering of Eagles/FReeRepublic Support Our Troops Rally less than a month ago in Westminster, MD and already they are celebrities. Their Rally is opposite Carroll County Progressives and Women in Black. This past Saturday they met a reporter from the Carroll County Times in D.C. for the 25th Anniversary of the dedication of the Wall and for the Veterans' Day Observance. The paper's article is HERE. The comments to the article are especialy interresting. The first Westminster FReep is HERE. Week 2 is HERE.

Nov. 2 was the first time in 3 weeks that our weekly support the troops event at Walter Reed Army Medical Center (WR) was not rained on. For over 2 and 1/2 years through rain, snow, cold, wind, and heat FReepers have stood outside the main gate of Walter Reed (WR) every week, having expelled the cruel Code Pink anti-troop hate group from that location about 9 months into the weekly events. (Here is a web page with the background of the event, which is also a FReep of the venomous Code Pink and their fellow travelers assembled down the...

Three of Code Pink's stooges ate their groul while Medea and Gail looked over them. My apologies to the "Three Stooges", but the parody is too good to ignore. (photoshop by [Mrs] T). This lady (BELOW) was from Texas. During one of our verbal exchanges that she was losing, her words to us were, "Go to hell". FReepers in attendance this clear cool night were: BillF, BMWcyle, BufordP, PortCall24, TrueBlackMan and myself. It was great to see the support of those FReepers who came out this Halloween night. It was interesting to also hear what chores we had to promise...

WASHINGTON, October 26, 2007— Rain fell. Rain fell on the just and the unjust. Rain fell on the right and the left, on civilians and military, on Democrats and Republicans, believers and atheists, patriots and peacenuts. Didn't it rain? Standing in it, we could only be grateful as well as damp and chilly, aware as we are that our troops in Iraq bear up in broiling heat, those in Afghanistan toil in bitter cold, and those inside Walter Reed Army Medical Center have given more than one evening's mild discomfort to support their comrades-in-arms. It being spooky season, you could...

FReepers in attendance this rainy night were: BillF, BufordP, Kristinn, Olney-Keith, TrueBlackMan and myself. We had some good discussions with the Code Pinkos this week. They even admitted that all they are doing is training leftists to be lobbying activists. Sounds like a business in a residential zone to me. TrueBlackMan took pics and some video. I finally remembered my lessons on [Mrs] T's camera but the rain made taking them difficult. TrueBlackMan had a FReeper helping him hold a large umbrella over his camera so they will be better than mine (hanging head low) once he posts or links...

Group waiting for action on Code Pink digs Tom Knott October 25, 2007 Kristinn Taylor, co-leader of the D.C. chapter of FreeRepublic.com, is hoping that the city eventually addresses the de-facto hotel/lobbying operation run by the group Code Pink from a residentially zoned five-bedroom row house at 712 Fifth St. NE. Mr. Taylor's puzzlement is understandable, for the Code Pink provocateurs advertise the apparent zoning violations on their Web site, www.codepink4peace.org. "The bedrooms vary in size and can house two to four activists in each," the far-left group writes in the D.C. section of the site. The Code Pinkies say...

Only one call to the police and no false alarm to the fire department this week in our continuing FReep to evict Code Pink's corporate lobbying HQ in a residential neighborhood. The one police call was from a neighbor. The problem arose while Kristinn was taking to Pinko Midge (BELOW). The gates to both residences were right adjacent to each other. While talking Kristinn had unknowingly drifted over by a step and was in front of the neighbor's gate. When the neighbor returned from walking her dog and had to ask Kristinn to move. Kristinn immediately did and continued talking...

A new front has opened in the war over the war: zoning regulations. Last week, the conservative grassroots organization FreeRepublic.com held its second protest outside the Northeast Washington house that serves as a base of operations for the anti-war group Code Pink. Along with other groups, FreeRepublic.com alleges that Code Pink has set up a “corporate lobbying office” in a residential neighborhood. According to a Free Republic release, neighbors have “complained of Code Pink-affiliated buses being parked on their street, increased traffic, loud gatherings, unkempt trash and strangers going in and out of the house at all hours of the...

Okay, I can think of quite a few individuals and organization more deserving of the Nobel Peace Prize than the DC Chapter of FreeRepublic.com. But Algore? Come on! Has Algore ever stood at the gate to prevent Code Pink from demoralizing our troops as they come and go? No! Has Algore ever visited the wounded troops at Walter Reed? I don't think so! In fact, Algore has done more to circumvent his own cause by bloviating more CO2 into the atmosphere than any other man or machine on the face of the Earth. But that's okay. We don't need...

Okay, it wasn't really a panty raid, but we did get the pinkos' panties in a bunch. Besides I like the headline. What the D.C. Chapter did do was hold a stealth freep of Code Pink at their Washington, D.C. headquarters this afternoon. The part about the bogus police, fire and BOLO calls is true.Six D.C. Chapter members, a member of Gathering of Eagles, Iraq war vet Phil Kiver and two of his friends went to the so-called Code Pink House at 712 5th St., NE (attn. Keith Olbermann, don't get your panties in a bunch: Code Pink publishes this...

Recently, Rush Limbaugh referred to Jesse MacBeth and similar frauds as "phony soldiers." Limbaugh was then smeared by Democrats' claims that he was slandering real troops. The double irony seemed to escape notice in the media. First, Limbaugh was defending real soldiers from the actual slanders from McBeth and other phonies who falsely claim that our troops have committed atrocities. Second, the Democrats are the party of Sen. Richard Durbin (IL) (U.S. troops at GITMO are like "Nazis, Soviets in their gulags or some mad regime --Pol Pot"), Sen. John Kerry (MA) (U.S. troops in Vietnam systematically acting "in fashion...

WASHINGTON, DC, September 28, 2007— The DC Chapter has suspected all along that the dwindling handful of anti-war protestors outside Walter Reed are paid to show up. This week, one of their newbies came by our troop-support rally at the gates by mistake, and spilled the truth: a labor union had recruited this worker to show up at the lefties' phony "vigil." The worker's remarks clearly revealed that standing outside the Walter Reed Army Medical Center with anti-war signs wasn't a personal choice, but a workplace commitment demanded by a union representative. Our rally must have looked a lot more...

Hundreds of demonstrators, including students and families, rallied and marched in downtown Washington yesterday to protest the war in Iraq, complaining that the Democratic-controlled Congress has failed to do the public's bidding and bring U.S. troops home. From an elevated stage in front of the Capitol Reflecting Pool, a succession of speakers at the "Stop the War" rally urged Congress to stop funding the conflict and prevent more deaths of soldiers and Iraqi civilians. SNIP The rally, organized by the Troops Out Now Coalition, drew protesters from the Washington area, Philadelphia, New York, New Jersey and elsewhere. Police in the...

<p>WASHINGTON, DC, September 14, 2007— This week, thousands of veterans, civilian supporters and military family members came to the Nation's Capital to lobby Congress to support the troop surge in Iraq, witness General Petraeus's report, or attend Saturday's Gathering of Eagles III. Many also chose to spend Friday with the DC Chapter of Free Republic cheering the wounded at Walter Reed. Some 157 patriots, representing 24 states and DC, surrounded the gates — the most ever in the 126 weeks the DC Chapter has been rallying outside Walter Reed every Friday night to counter anti-war demonstrators. By more than 10 to 1, we outnumbered the dozen or so decency-deprived moonbats who showed up down the street.</p>
