Recently, Rush Limbaugh referred to Jesse MacBeth and similar frauds as "phony soldiers." Limbaugh was then smeared by Democrats' claims that he was slandering real troops.
The double irony seemed to escape notice in the media.
First, Limbaugh was defending real soldiers from the actual slanders from McBeth and other phonies who falsely claim that our troops have committed atrocities.
Second, the Democrats are the party of Sen. Richard Durbin (IL) (U.S. troops at GITMO are like "Nazis, Soviets in their gulags or some mad regime --Pol Pot"), Sen. John Kerry (MA) (U.S. troops in Vietnam systematically acting "in fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khan" and U.S. troops in Iraq are "going into the homes of Iraqis in the dead of night, terrorizing kids and children, you know, women"), and Cong. John Murtha (PA) (U.S. Marines "killed innocent civilians in cold blood"). That's just the tip of the iceberg of Democrat support for the troops from a party which, earlier in the year, was delaying funding for the ammo, equipment, and supplies needed by our troops. And the Democrats claim that they, not Limbaugh, support the troops.
During the Oct.5 weekly Friday night support the troops gathering at Walter Reed Army Medical Center (WR) in Washington, DC., someone wondered how the phony soldier stories smear related to the WR event. Later, I realized that not only were there phony soldiers (i.e., those who falsely claim military service or combat service), but phony soldiers' supporters also existed.
The phony soldiers' supporters were phony in two ways. They support the phony soldiers such as Jesse MacBeth. They are also phony in the sense that they pretend to support real troops. In the case of the Democrats, most of whom are phony soldiers' supporters, they delay troop funding for political advantage. Yet, there are even more overt phony soldiers' supporters including the anti-troop hate group Code Pink and their various allies as will be discussed below.
As U.S. troops wounded in Afghanistan and Iraq try to heal at Walter Reed (WR), Code Pink has been waging a disgusting psych-op against hospital patients for over 2 and 1/2 years. The Pinkos now often hold signs saying REAL SUPPORT / BRING THEM HOME NOW. Do Code Pink and its allied blood dancers really support the troops?
The twisted Pinkos called our troops terrorists right there at the WR main gate per this thread and the linked video.
The hate group calls our troops "killers" per the cruel Code Pinko web site anti-military recruiting slogan "Mothers don't let your children grow up to be killers." (Archived web page is here and current version here.)
The anti-troop hate group Pinkos have endorsed "the Iraqi resistance" (as they call our enemy, see here and here).
The troop-hating Pinkos have given money to the other side in Fallujah, Iraq and then bragged about it.
In the first 5 months at Walter Reed, Pinkos held signs saying "Maimed for a Lie" to taunt heroes who've lost limbs defending the freedom of all Americans, regardless of their politics. Another Pinko sign was "Enlist Here to Die for Halliburton," as if the hospital were a place to enlist.
When negative publicity about the signs surfaced, the Code Pinkos stopped using such overtly mocking signs against the Walter Reed patients. Code Pink issued a press release claiming that suspected right-wing infiltrators were likely responsible for inappropriate signs per this thread.
Yet, we have photos showing that the Maimed for a Lie sign was held by the Phony Soldiers' Supporters/leaders for Code Pink's psych-op against the troops: Gael Murphy, chief DC Code Pinko; Kevin McCarron, Veteran for Peace; and Bruce Wolf, local Union guy with O.P.E.I.U. local 2.
On Oct. 5, FReepers from DC Chapter and beyond, together with friends, assembled the following patriots to support our troops and oppose the Pinkos: trooprally (Mr & Mrs.), Judy * from PA, BufordP, Tom the Redhunter, Fraxinus, Bill * from MD, VictoryNY, John * from NY, PrezUSA222, Jimmy Valentine's brother, PleaDeal, Sensei Ern, kristinn, George * and Ethel * from MD, Trevor * (son of George and Ethel) and Karen * from PA, Mike Sparling * (father of WR patient, friend to FReepers, Joshua Sparling), and BillF.
On the unusually warm night, the Pinkos were able to get 9 to attend against our 20.
Our photos were taken by trooprally (Mrs.). You can see the full set here. I've only included a few in the report.

Join us some Friday in the near future.
Please join us. Support the troops and be a part of our peaceful counter-protest to Code Pink.
Don't let the troops think that regular Americans are too busy to support the troops and peacefully counter America-hating leftists.
Being there with us in spirit is great, but we need people to hold the MOAB (Mother of all banners), other signs, and flags. Maybe you can't come every week, but please make it your patriotic duty to join us at least once in the near future.
The troops do the hard stuff, facing bullets and bombs, surely you can come out to back them up.
As always, the DC Chapter's rules for protesting will be in effect.
Briefly, they are: No violence. No profanity. No racism. No provocations. Obey the law. Treat all law enforcement officers with respect.
Fridays, 6:30 to 9:30 pm Walter Reed Army Medical Center, 7200 Georgia Ave., at Elder St., NW, Washington, DC
On street parking is usually easy to find and there is a parking lot at the corner of Georgia and Elder. Location is about 6 or 7 blocks from Takoma metro station and is walkable, but it is best if you get a ride. If you want a ride, FReepmail kristinn and me, preferably with your cell phone number as far in advance as possible. If you wait until Friday afternoon, it may be too late to coordinate a Metro ride. One or both of us will try to arrange for someone to pick you up at the metro station.
DC Chapter ping.
Please bump the thread and join us some Friday.
The great love and support the Democrats (and other Leftists) have for our troops can be seen in the lack of reporting (and favorable comment) on the current success in Iraq. The troops are of concern (or, better said, of use) to the Left when they’re taking casualties, and when their efforts can be “spun” as unsuccessful.
The great love and support the Democrats (and other Leftists) have for our troops can be witnessed in how those troops are treated in liberal bastions like San Fransicko.
That comment Durbin made on the Senate Floor is beyond reproach. And, I'm being nice. But, that comment really gets my ire.
Great report BillF. You hit the nail on the head about who supports the Real Soldiers and who just wants to be a Phoney supporter . Thanks.
[Mrs T]
Thanks for the ping.

LOL "escape notice"? Gimme a break - the MSM wears blinders. Blinders they put on every morning.
The MSM doesn't want to see the things that don't fit their world view.
They "prejudge" -- what we used to call prejudice...
Really - it's not a failure to notice - they work very hard "not to see" the obvious.
Well done. Thanks for the links.

And that's a fact, GOPJ. In two and-a-half years of standing in support of our troops at Walter Reed on Friday nights, I have watched as a Fox (local?) News truck, a WJLA (local ABC TV affiliate) News truck, a WUSA (local CBS TV affiliate) News truck, and a couple of spanish-language TV news trucks drove right past our crowds of real troop supporters without a sidewards glance.
Well, the wounded soldiers and their families see us, and that's what's important. Some have asked "Why doesn't the media show this?" Well, by the silence of the MSM about Americans who support our troops at regular rallies like WRAMC, the soldiers learn that (sadly) our MSM is agenda-driven, and not to be trusted as a fair and unbiased source of news.
A pox on the MSM.
God Bless our troops!
Bump
And God Bless you tgslTakoma for standing in support of our troops at Walter Reed. You're right, the MSM's like a pack of mad dogs chasing an illusionary rabbit...
FReepmail me to be added to or deleted from this once-weekly ping list.
For the life of me I can’t figure out how they justify doing this in front of these wounded soldiers, and not blab their opinions instead in front of the decision makers. How can they be their target audience? So... if their child is paralyzed in a car accident by a drunk driver, I should stand in front of their home, outside their child’s bedroom window and scream that she is maimed for life and hold up signs against drunk driving? I see no difference. Stupid, stupid, fools. Time to start identifying some human beings to a sub-human category.
You guys rock!
As usual, an awesome job from the REAL SOLDIERS’ SUPPORTERS!!!!!
Hugs for everyone (except trooprally, who is holding out for an in-person hug :))
Bump!
