<p>WASHINGTON, DC, July 3, 2006--Although the 60s are long over, about 150 aging hippies and hangers-on relived them again over Independence Day weekend. They offered themselves up as tools of the CodePink-Cindy Sheehan leftism-for-profit machine, this time at the Ghandi statue at 21st and Massachusetts Avenue NW, and later, eating off the street in front of the White House.</p>

Just a quick wrap up of the July 4th FReep in front of the White House. This AAR is a little late since the D.C. Chapter had a full July 4th Holiday of FReeps. First was at Walter Reed Then at Olney,MD with Doctor Raoul making his second consecutive appearance. Then on Monday, July 3 at the New York Times in D.C. And finally exclusive pics of the FReep at the White House. But before I get to that, some other great Reports by non-FReepers that you may not have linked to. Charles Rider of Age of Hooper has a...

WASHINGTON, DC, MONDAY, JULY 3, 2006--The D.C. Chapter of FreeRepublic.com and the online watchdog Accuracy in Media (www.AIM.org) held a press conference and demonstration Monday at the Washington, D.C., bureau of the New York Times to protest the newspaper's publishing of stories exposing national security intelligence programs. The two conservative groups called for the prosecution of New York Times publisher Arthur Sulzberger, Jr., Executive Editor Bill Keller and reporters James Risen and Eric Lichtblau for "giving aid and comfort to al-Qaida." The initial group of 14 FReepers, led by FreeRepublic's National Spokesman Kristinn Taylor, soon swelled to 29 protesters. They...

It was a small, but stalwart crowd outside the D.C. offices of the NY Times this afternoon. Free Republic co-organizer Kristinn Taylor told me he wasn't aware of any Times reporters or photographers covering the event outside their doorstep. Lots of spirited signs and chanting from a couple dozen protesters--plus befuddled questions from MSM types who don't understand why the repeat offenders at the Times are being singled out. We'll have video later at Hot Air. Some photos from the scene:

<p>I got word (from an anonymous source) a week ago that Code Pink was going to have another Moonbat parade in DC on Flag Day (June 14th for those of you in Rio Linda), to celebrate the 2500th US military death in Iraq. It didn't matter to Gael Murphy when she announced the parade that the death toll might not be at 2500; she must have been really bummed by Zarqawi's untimely demise on June 7th (HOOAH! and AirPower!) and needed to do something to lift her out of the funk she was in. And a blood dance was just the ticket, apparently.</p>

The moonbats could not take the heat today. And it was only in the mid-80s. The were packed up and GONE by 4:20 today. During the winter months, they had the sun keeping them a little warmer than our group who were in the shadows of some mature pine trees. Being hardened FReepers from the cold nights at Walter Reed, we stayed at our corner until the moonbats were long gone. But now that it is summer, the leaves on the trees on the grassy knoll immediately behind us keep us in the shade while the sun beats down on...

Photos by [Mrs.] TrooprallyLots of pixels; give this thread time to fully load. WASHINGTON, May 26, 2006-- While many in the Capital and across the U.S. planned respectful visits to veteran's cemeteries on Memorial Day weekend, or to solemn observances to honor those who gave their lives for our nation, Code Pink showed up at Walter Reed Army Medical Center on Friday evening for more of their usual singin', dancin', sneerin' and general disrespect under the "banner" of war protests. Sporting a Mary Poppins umbrella, this confused Code Pinko gives the anachronistic V-sign (which means Victory, as in "Victory in...

As throngs came to the hallowed grounds of Arlington National Cemetery to honor the fallen on Memorial Day, a handful of protesters from an anti-gay group stood across a four-lane highway from a conservative group supporting the troops.

ARLINGTON, Va. -- President Bush, delivering a Memorial Day message surrounded by the graves of thousands of military dead, said Monday that the United States must continue fighting the war on terror in the name of those have already given their life in the cause. "The best way to pay respect is to value why a sacrifice was made," Bush said, quoting from a letter that Lt. Mark Dooley wrote to his parents before being killed last September in the Iraqi city of Ramadi. Monday's observance at Arlington National Cemetery was not a funeral, so demonstrators were free to speak...

By LARRY MARGASAK, Associated Press Writer 11 minutes ago As throngs came to the hallowed grounds of Arlington National Cemetery to honor the fallen on Memorial Day, a handful of protesters from an anti-gay group stood across a four-lane highway from a conservative group supporting the troops. The two groups, separated by a line of police cars, were faced off about 300 feet from the entrance to the cemetery. They held signs making competing arguments. But because of noise from approaching motorcycles and cars, they could not hear one another. A small group of members of the Westboro Baptist Church...
