FReep #61: Summer Arrives at Walter Reed
Bright sunshine and much warmer temps greeted us this evening. Our usual crowd of FReepers and friends was bolstered again tonight by the Western Conference of College Republicans. The young'uns were enthusiastic, very well informed, and committed to Supporting the Troops and the Mission! Plus, they dress really well!

Ohio was again represented by Ryan and Karen, who decided to make the WR FReep part of their short vacation in town. "The bus" is still running! There's no more Fran O'Briens but Hal and Marty are still finding places to host this now legendary Friday Night Dinner for the wounded warriors and their families.

We'll be back out at Walter Reed next Friday night, June 23rd, from 6:30 until at least 9:30 at the intersection of Georgia Avenue and Elder Street, NW in Washington, D.C. Please let the troops know that regular Americans aren't too busy with TV, ball games, movies and other recreation to spend a few hours demonstrating their support. Maybe you can't come every week, but please make it your patriotic duty to join us at least once in the near future. This FReep is rewarding, fun, and important for our troops and our nation.
The wounded warriors, family members and hospital staff all know we're out there and they do appreciate the show of support. One of the patients has a milblog on which he recently wrote:
"The other day I was asked how I felt about the protestors outside the main gate at Walter Reed... I didn't really know what to say because this is what I see. People who support us and our mission. Not just individuals, but their entire families. It makes me feel good to see that patriotism is still being taught in homes."- Sgt. Allen, Contact Right...Taking Fire.
Come out this Friday, June 23rd, and join us in celebrating our Troops.
As always, the DC Chapter's rules for protesting will be in effect. Briefly, they are: No violence. No profanity. No racism. No provocations. Obey the law. Treat all law enforcement officers with respect.

Gael Murphy is a world class scumbag. That soldier risked his life to comfort that dying child. She was fatally injuried by a bomb and it is common that after a bomb explodes, there is either another bomb or an ambush waiting for the rescuers. Notice that the soldier is defenseles. He has both hands on the girl, not one on his weapon. He certainly can't see any threat in that position.
And scumbag Gael Murphy uses that photo? When they slander soldiers, putting Baath Party liars on tour that say Americans skin people alive with hot irons?
To sum it up, Gael Murphy is a world class scumbag.
