City Council Committee on the Judiciary, regarding allegations made by numerous leftist organizations and individuals, that the Metropolitan Police Department are an out-of-control band of jackbooted thugs who run rampant through the streets arresting, beating and spying on radical leftists as they plan and carry out peace riots and other assorted mayhem. Thousands rallied in Washington on Saturday to protest U.S. policy in Iraq, the first major demonstration since President Bush declared an end to major combat in the war on Iraq.
