A young woman choked to death on a marshmallow after trying to copy a challenge on TV's Love Island, an inquest heard. Mia Austin, 30, had seen Love Island contestants challenge each other to fit as many marshmallows in their mouths as possible. But the inquest was told Mia suffered from "locked-in syndrome" - and was unable to cough up the sweet. Former travel agent Mia was on a shopping trip during a holiday in Wales with her mum when she wanted her to buy marshmallows. Her mum Carol told the inquest: "Apparently on Love Island they did a marshmallow...

SAN FRANCISCO — California prison officials must provide for free undergarments that flatten the chest of transgender inmates at women's prisons and give transgender inmates at men's prisons access to bracelets, earrings, hair brushes and hair clips, a federal judge said Friday. U.S. District Judge Jon Tigar issued the order in a federal lawsuit that earlier led California to become the first state to provide taxpayer-funded sex reassignment surgery to an inmate. The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation also agreed as part of the suit by Shiloh Quine to give transgender inmates access to certain products. Quine, 57, had...

The recall includes certain 3- and 4-pound packages of American and white American slices, Kraft said. Those affected have a “best when used by” date between December 29, 2015, and January 4, 2016, followed by the manufacturing code “S54″ or “S55.” “A thin strip of the individual packaging film may remain adhered to the slice after the wrapper has been removed,” Kraft said. “If the film sticks to the slice and is not removed, it could potentially cause a choking hazard.” The company said it has received 10 complaints and three reports of choking.

Justice prevails: two Seattle men were detained for a few hours by U.S. Customs when they tried to smuggle …chocolate… into the United States. That’s right. These menaces to society were trying to bring [gasp] Kinder Eggs into our fair country. Everyone knows those particular treats have little choking hazards inside them: choking hazards disguised as toys! How diabolical. And the worst part is, these confectionary terrorists were going to give these chocolates to… their… kids. It’s a good thing Nanny Guvment is there to save us from ourselves. Otherwise, who knows what terrible things we would do. We might...
