SAN FRANCISCO — California prison officials must provide for free undergarments that flatten the chest of transgender inmates at women's prisons and give transgender inmates at men's prisons access to bracelets, earrings, hair brushes and hair clips, a federal judge said Friday.
U.S. District Judge Jon Tigar issued the order in a federal lawsuit that earlier led California to become the first state to provide taxpayer-funded sex reassignment surgery to an inmate.
The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation also agreed as part of the suit by Shiloh Quine to give transgender inmates access to certain products. Quine, 57, had sex reassignment surgery in January and was transferred from a men's facility to a women's prison in Chowchilla. She is serving a life sentence for murder, kidnapping and robbery.
Tigar's ruling came in a dispute over the products transgender inmates should have access to. Corrections officials allow transgender female inmates in men's prisons to have sandals, t-shirts and walking shoes. Tigar's ruling Friday expanded that list to include pajamas, nightgowns, robes and scarves, rejecting the corrections department's argument that those items could be altered to resemble street clothes, aiding in escape attempts.
Another judge had ruled that earrings, bracelets, hair brushes and hair clips could pose safety concerns in men's prisons. Tigar, noting that women's prisons allow those items, said they could be made from materials such as rubber that didn't create safety risks.
Corrections officials also allow transgender male inmates at women's prisons to buy undergarments known as binders or compression tops. Tigar said that was "effectively" denying those items to inmates who could not afford them.
Seems the inmates run the prison.

Sadly, that is because of generations of brainwashing and destroying the minds of young children, which is intentionally done in our “publik skools”. Screens/movies/programming (TV) helps distract and addict children so they become socially inept, dehumanized and incapable of profound learning and relationships.
It is sad-—but literacy rate prior to John Dewey and compulsory skools, was 98%. Now it is less than 50%-—quite a bit less. It is NOT by accident. These inmates keep the ‘unconstitutional State Systems in place, don’t they? They need immoral, vile people so they can keep total control over us.

We need parents to be virtuous again and to raise their OWN children so they are capable of critical thinking and agency (virtue) and understanding Natural Law (have some embedded logic and common sense).

This person with an accomplice shot and killed a 33-year-old father in 1980 after robbing and carjacking him. The victim begged for his life. He left behind a wife and children.
This murderer’s “ punishment” includes 37 years (and counting) more than his victim got to enjoy, a taxpayer-funded sex change, and the legal system of California doing all it can to make his life as a girl as enjoyable as possible .
It is insane how this has turned out. But it has been insane since the beginning. A sane system would have given him his “necklace” soon after his conviction.

Jewelry is generally not allowed. In prison even a shirt can be a big big deal. If some guy likes your shirt from the laundry, it can blow up to something very big.
Then put a ring or some other type of jewelry in the mix.

Prisoners deserve safe but harsh punishment for their crimes so they do not want to go back. These idiot commie judges and their coddling make me puke.
Prison should not be brutal or cruel, but it should be rice/beans/bread for every meal until you want to puke so you don’t want to come back.
