A young woman choked to death on a marshmallow after trying to copy a challenge on TV's Love Island, an inquest heard.
Mia Austin, 30, had seen Love Island contestants challenge each other to fit as many marshmallows in their mouths as possible.
But the inquest was told Mia suffered from "locked-in syndrome" - and was unable to cough up the sweet.
Former travel agent Mia was on a shopping trip during a holiday in Wales with her mum when she wanted her to buy marshmallows.
Her mum Carol told the inquest: "Apparently on Love Island they did a marshmallow challenge, you put marshmallows in the mouth.
"That's what she wanted to do with two friends."

The hearing in Caernarfon heard Mia had initially been fed on a liquid only diet before being able to eat soft foods.
But Mia, of Wirral, Merseyside, had suffered from previous choking incidents and her family given specialist medical equipment to try and avoid it.

He also mentioned the ‘soy Sauce’ challenge. Drin=k a liter of soy sauce in one day. Guaranteed death.

There's a video on youtube from a couple of years ago of a young guy in Britain on his motorcycle. He had a "GoPro" camera on his helmet as he got up to 97MPH on a 50MPH two lane road. A car turned into his path..and you can guess the outcome.
Foolish behaviors do have consequences.

We’ve come a long way from eating goldfish or seeing how many people could fit in a phone booth or VW.
Was she playing stupid games, or was she killed? She had suffered a stroke and was unable to speak or move. Previous choking episodes, special diet. Should her mother have bought her marshmallows, should her carer have put half a marshmallow in her mouth?
It wasn’t a mouth full of marshmallows.
She communicated using a spell chart and computer, even wrote a book, but I wonder about “facilitated communication” which is a fraud, either conscious or unconscious on the part of the facilitators.
