Amazon's suspension of Parler's account means that unless it can find another host, once the ban takes effect on Sunday Parler will go offline.

Amazon on Saturday kicked Parler off its Web hosting services. Parler, a social network favored by conservative politicians and extremists, was used to help plan and coordinate the January 6 attempted coup on Washington D.C. It has recently been overrun with messages encouraging “Patriots” to march on Washington D.C. with weapons on January 19.

Yesterday, gutless Senate Republicans (all interchangeable words) voted to override Trump's veto and ignored his request to take on the stifling censorship being imposed on us by Big Tech. Tech giants are protected by a section of a law (Communications Act of 1934, Section 230) that grants them immunity from liability for third-party content. Trump rightfully takes issue with it because of how the law protects social media bias and allows it to run rampant with no consequence. But back to the gutless wonders. A few moments after voting to override Trump's request, the senators complained like a bunch of...
  • Arizona State Rep Drafts Legislation to Fine Big Tech After ‘Stop the Steal’ Censorship

Twitter censored a number of accounts ahead of the January 6 “Stop the Steal” rally in Washington, D.C., including Arizona State Rep Mark Finchem (R), who is now drafting legislation to fine big tech companies that engage in censorship. According to draft legislation provided to the National File, Fincham’s bill would issue online services with fines if they are engaged in “editing, deleting, delisting, blocking, censoring, or making it difficult or impossible for online users to locate and access uploaded content in a timely manner.” An exception is made for the deletion of pornographic or libelous content, or content that...
  • What AG Barr’s Departure Means for Google

    American Thinker.com ^ | January 1, 2021 | Michael Busler
Attorney General William Barr’s December 23 resignation caught many in the tech accountability movement by surprise. Barr was a driving force behind the Justice Department's landmark Google antitrust suit in October. His departure has understandably raised questions about the future of the department’s second antitrust investigation against Google and the general approach the Trump DoJ will take towards the company as it nears the end of its term. This concern from Big Tech’s critics is explicable. Given the tech-friendly staff that Joe Biden continues to appoint and float as cabinet picks, the president-elect doesn't appear to be a tech hawk...

President Donald Trump signed a $900 billion pandemic relief package Sunday evening Read President Trump’s entire statement below: As President of the United States, it is my responsibility to protect the people of our country from the economic devastation and hardship that was caused by the China Virus. I understand that many small businesses have been forced to close as a result of harsh actions by Democrat-run states. Many people are back to work, but my job is not done until everyone is back to work. Fortunately, as a result of my work with Congress in passing the CARES Act...

As the American right continues to sort through its identity crisis, four years after the earth-shattering election of a heterodox Republican Party presidential standard-bearer, battle lines are hardening on the issue of Big Tech's hectoring censorship and its monopolistic corporate misbehavior. The increasing brazenness with which the various Big Tech behemoths distort their search algorithms to hide conservative viewpoints, undermine conservatives through "shadow banning" and weaponize the sanctimonious and self-serving "fact-checking" cottage industry to suppress conservative voices has long been clear to those of us who, to use the parlance of the day, are "very online." The 2017 dismissal of...

Allum Bokhari, the senior technology correspondent at Breitbart News, has performed an extraordinarily valuable service by giving us his new book #Deleted: Big Tech’s Battle to Erase the Trump Movement and Steal the Election. While the social media giants’ efforts to suppress all dissent from their far-left, anti-American agenda have been going on for years, few people are aware of the full depth and breadth of this sinister initiative, or of how it is much more than just a bias toward the left, but a carefully planned and coordinated endeavor that, if left unchecked, will do nothing less than relegate...

The Commerce Department announced Friday morning that it would ban U.S. business transactions with Chinese-owned social apps WeChat and TikTok on Sunday. The announcement comes ahead of an expected statement Friday by President Donald Trump on whether or not the government will approve a deal for Oracle to take a minority stake in TikTok and become a “trusted technology partner” for the company in the U.S. It’s unclear if the Commerce Department’s announcement means there’s no possibility of a deal going through before the Sunday deadline, and it could be an aggressive move from the Trump Administration to push for...

    - U.S. competition enforcers are preparing a possible antitrust lawsuit against Facebook Inc., according to a person familiar with the matter. The Federal Trade Commission has been investigating Facebook for more than a year over whether the social media giant has harmed competition and could file a case by the end of the year, said the person, who was granted anonymity because the inquiry is confidential. No final decision has been made, the person added. A lawsuit by the FTC would mark another major escalation by U.S. officials in their campaign against America’s technology giants, which have come under intense...

I’ve had two experiences in Kentucky Small Claims Court over the last 24 months. 5/3 Bank and Home Depot attempted to bully me into accepting shoddy workmanship and a bait and switch loan snafu. I sued both in small claims for the maximum of $2500. Before I could plead my case for damages both settled out of court for $1500 and $1300 along with making right the original problems. Perhaps they would have prevailed before the judge but would have lost due to expense of defending themselves. If Twitter sells ads to conservative businesses, then limits the ads’ exposure by...

[snip] Don’t believe the pathetic mainstream media. What Trump accomplished in just his first term is staggering. I could fill an entire article going over the landmark achievements, but it would only scratch the surface. Trump slashed regulations and taxes. He’s appointed nearly 300 conservative federal judges. He’s negotiated new trade deals with Mexico, Canada, China and more. He’s reformed our prison system. And he’s ended our endless wars overseas (while defeating ISIS). Again, that’s just for starters. When Trump leaves office at the end of his second term, we won’t recognize this country. For the better. He will dismantle...

NBC News was called out late Sunday over a pair of tweets it sent about an hour apart that critics said showed bias when reporting on President Trump rallies and the protests that have emerged in the wake of George Floyd’s death in police custody. NBC News first tweeted a link to a protest in Brooklyn and wrote, “Rally for Black trans lives draws packed crowd to Brooklyn Museum plaza.” About an hour later, the news outlet tweeted out another story, “President Trump plans to rally his supporters next Saturday for the first time since most of the country was...

In a letter appearing online Thursday, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan write that President Trump’s “divisive and incendiary rhetoric” has left them “deeply shaken and disgusted” in a volatile time that they say requires “unity” in the U.S. Writing under the letterhead of their Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, which focuses on technology solutions to social problems, the couple were responding to last week’s call by more than 270 scientists that Facebook address what the scientists described as “misinformation” appearing on social media. A copy of the Chan-Zuckerberg letter was posted on Twitter by Recode journalist Teddy Schleifer.
