MSNBC host Joe Scarborough said Thursday on his show “Morning Joe” that viewers should change the channel if they were too stupid to realize that the protests on college campuses are hurting President Joe Biden’s chances of winning in November. Discussing the Vietnam War protests, Scarborough said, “I was young and remember my parents asking, what in the world is going on in this country? And, of course, you know, they were raised in the Great Depression and rural Georgia. It was kind of hard for them to hear rich kids on the campus of Harvard are taking over or...

New York City Mayor Eric Adams (D) sounds the alarm that the roughly 300 pro-Hamas protestors arrested by NYPD Tuesday night at Columbia University and City College of New York may not be students— but rather part of radical terrorist organizations. Adams said that when he became aware that the majority of the pro-terrorism protestors weren’t students but professional agitators, he promised to fight for the American “way of life” as the demonstrators continued to harass Jewish communities. “Once I became aware of the outside agitators who were part of this operation, as Columbia mentioned in their letter and their...

The US House of Representatives on Wednesday voted overwhelmingly in favor of the bipartisan Antisemitism Awareness Act, CNN reported. The bill would mandate that when the Department of Education enforces federal anti-discrimination laws it uses a definition of antisemitism put forward by the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance. The House vote was 320 to 91 with 70 Democrats and 21 Republicans voting against the bill. The GOP opposition largely came from the right flank of the conference. The bill would next need to be taken up by the Senate. New York Republican Mike Lawler, who introduced the legislation, said in a...

by Mark Finkelstein May 11, 2006 You'd think that any reasonable person would be pleased that we are not suffering the kind of turbulent times on American campuses experienced during the '60s and early '70s. Campus buildings sacked and put to the torch, student union buildings occupied by armed militants, academic careers and lives disrupted, and the ultimate tragedy of four young people killed at Kent State. Could it be that Chris Matthews isn't reasonable? For on this evening's Hardball, he expressed nostalgia for that riotous past coupled with apparent frustration that today's campuses are not aflame. His guest was...
