Being able to sue is important, however, there should be caps on awards as well as caps on attorney fees. It's too frequently not about real wrongs suffered but only about greed.

There should be a law that if an attorney loses a frivolous lawsuit you can turn around and sue him for harassment and extortion---to the tune of zillons of dollars, or at least an amount equal to what he was seeking. Let them carry harassment insurance like they force the medical field to carry malpractice insurance. (not that the meds don't need a watchful eye, but, much of it is frivolous and has a great deal to do with the ridiculous price of healthcare.)

The RATS started out 2001 claiming that Bush was ruining the economy by talking it down. While I don't agree with that, look who's talking it down now.

The fact is that the economy was stressing during the Stainmaker's last term. The "you're talking the economy down" talk was a coverup of that fact. The RATS think they've mastered coverup. They either say "It's the Republican's fault" or when all else fails they say "Everyone does it."

The RATS really do believe in recycling. They use the same tactics over and over and all we have to do is recognize the patterns. For example: their attacks on Rep Prez candidates is always either they are mean or they are stupid. Over and over it is basically the same thing.

The economy argument is the same argument recycled as well. If the media wasn't so dishonest they would recognized the contradictions in the RAT economy story.

Remember when the economy took a small down turn during the presidential elections of 1992, then, began to recover before the Narcissist Stainmaker was sworn in? The claim was "the economy is recovering in anticipation of ME"

That's interesting. I just moved to KC (Kansas side) from Wichita. I am unfamiliar with this but I'll start paying attention.

I attended some KC, MO public schools as a child. Really bad memories for the most part. Especially the all black school (I'm blonde/blue eyed). I was told "We're going to beat you up after school" every day, and that was in the 3rd grade. They treated all the white kids badly. We couldn't go out to recess for fear of violence. I must add, though, that my black 3rd grade teacher was very nice. I was a tad scared of her though because she would spank kids in the coat room with a fiberglass paddle.

The name of the school was Fransis Willard I believe.

After that I always wondered if the one black kid in my future classes felt the way I did. (technically there were 3 of us) Even before the threats I sat down my first day at the school and looked around at all the kids that looked so different from me and cried. A kid said "teacher, the new girl is crying" and the teacher came and asked if I was okay. Of course I couldn't say anything so I said "I'm okay." It's a weird feeling, and in the 60's it was a dangerous situation.

FYI, I never was beat up. I learned the value of keeping your mouth shut though.

btw, Penn's motives are obvious and have nothing to do with O'Reilly. In Hollyweird, it is good for one's career to slam the political right, and his could use a major jumpstart. His agent probably recomended it. (not that O'Reilly is all THAT right, being a McCain lover and all, but compared to the limousine Liberals in lala land, he's a righty and an effective obstructor of their agenda)

I would feel very complimented if I were O'Reilly. Sometimes a person's effectiveness can be defined by who is cursing him. Hahaha! I'd never respect someone Sean Penn approved of anyway!

Well, with the public school system pushing the liberal political agenda for years now, it's hard for me to get too worked up over this one. There are a lot of blacks in the KC Mo school district so they should have strong representation. I may not know enough details, but, the truth is jobs are offered for the wrong reasons all the time. I doubt that ever changes, they just might hide it more cleverly at times.

Who's giving W or Ashcroft absolute power? That is stupid. Anyone with absolute power would not permit the criticism those two have to endure on a daily basis. Get real!

I think we need to be wary of a new ring--the ring of absolute stupidity. It rules over other rings, like the ring of relativism and the ring of passivity, to name only two.

I suppose we should give up telling kids not to lie since they will do it anyway. Also, lets stop teaching them to wash their hair or brush their teeth--good personal hygiene--since many kids don't listen anyway and come to class with dirty hair or bad teeth. We wouldn't want anyone to feel bad.

For that matter, there will be murderers and robbers. No time in history has not had them, so, let's not make those future criminals feel excluded and bad. They just might be born that way.

IMO, and according to what I've been taught, the Mosaic Laws of the OT are God's view of right and wrong. The punishments, like death, are terribly harsh to us, but, keep in mind, they were given to Jews (and most were designed by Jews) who claimed to be entitled to the benefits and blessings of God. In order to have God live in their midst, in the Temple's Holy place, They had to live holy lives. God is holy and cannot sin.

They were not to go out and kill other people according to these laws, they were the laws for the people of Israel.

In the NT, and according to Christian belief, the laws main purpose was to show us our sin. Because we ALL ARE SINNERS. The judgement in Scripture for ALL sin is DEATH! "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

While the Jews condemned many sins to capital punishments, not just homosexuality (remember it was a totally different time and culture) God is the one who stands in judgement of us all, and ALL our sin. Homosexuality is still a sin, but death no longer needs to be the wage because Jesus paid the penalty for their sin too. He died so they won't have to.

That's the theology of it...I'm sure others could word it better.

To overtax corporations (employers) in order to give perks to "working people" (I wonder what those corporations are doing with all that free time, since they apparently are not "working people") is like burning down the bridge you and your family are standing on.

Working people work for someone. Dems act as though "working people" stand alone. You can't keep a job if the employer goes under. Duh!

Let me see if I understand him. He suggests fighting intolerance with intolerance and dealing with people who feel they possess THE truth by forcing them to see that it is in fact HE, Mr liberal self-righteousness, who is in sole possession of the truth.
