Teachers now required to emphasize abstinence in sex ed courses

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) Sex educators in New Jersey must now stress abstinence as the best way to avoid pregnancy or AIDS.
Acting Gov. Donald T. DiFrancesco signed a bill Wednesday that orders any one who promotes sex education to make sure abstinence is listed as the only certain method to prevent pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases.
The new law covers classroom lectures and all materials including pamphlets.
''Any instruction concerning the use of contraceptives, such as condoms, must include information on their failure rates for preventing pregnancy, HIV infection, and other sexually transmitted diseases in actual use among adolescent populations,'' the law reads.
School boards in the state must also rewrite local plans for teaching sex education to include ''reasons, skills, and strategies for remaining or becoming abstinent from sexual activity,'' according to the measure.
Opponents say the new law will hurt children by taking valuable classroom time away from subjects such as contraception.
Supporters contend that students must be presented with all information, including details about abstinence.
By giving them better information so they make better choices. When teachers give them incomplete and misleading information that encourages them to go ahead and start having sex (or keep on having sex) rather than informing them of the risks of sex even with contraceptives, then students are MORE likely to engage in sexual activities than when they are informed about abstinence and the dangers of sex even with "protection". When students are given better information about abstinence and the risks with condoms and other contraceptive devices, then students are MORE likely to abstain than when they are fed only the Planned Parenthood propaganda.
If the schools are going to assume the power to "teach" students about sex and birth control, then at the very least they should be honest enough to teach the kids that it is in their best interest to wait until they are older (preferrably until marriage) to engage in sex and inform them of the reasons why.
I wouldn't get too excited, though. The teachers unions there still own and control New Jersey. The place is gone for good, and this latest "bill" is just a meaningless con-job. The teachers will simply ignore the law.
Not a lot of time is needed to teach contraception. Kids aren't ignorant of contraception methods, especially condoms. The problem is they don't use them.
For that matter, there will be murderers and robbers. No time in history has not had them, so, let's not make those future criminals feel excluded and bad. They just might be born that way.
Way to go DiFrancesco! This is almost enough to make me consider forgiving you for what you did to Schundler. Nah. It's good, but it's not enough to make up for that.

The above lame excuse not only shows that liberals are desperate, but it shows that they really hate our children enough that they want to withhold information that could keep our children from killing themselves, They might as well hold a loaded gun to their heads and teach them how to play russian roulette.
What else could explain liberals not wanting to teach children and I emphasize the word Children, that abstinence is the only thing that will keep them safe from diseases that may kill them, lifestyles that could destroy them, or from a pregnancy that would result in a child having a child or a child killing a child.
Abstinence until they are adults and have entered into a committed relationship(I believe marriage) is the only thing that will ensure that they become healthy and happy adults.
The same thing that can bring someone such immediate pleasure can also destroy their lives, especially if they engage in sexual activity before they are adults and mature.
