A white couple from West Virginia were collectively sentenced to 375 years in prison for forcing their five adopted black children to work on their farm as “slaves” while being berated with racial slurs. Jeanne Kay Whitefeather received up to 215 years in prison and her husband, Donald Lantz, will serve up to 160 years — the maximum sentence — after the pair were convicted of forced labor, human trafficking and child abuse and neglect in January. “You brought these children to West Virginia, a place that I know as ‘Almost Heaven,’ and you put them in hell. This court...

Members of the Congressional Black Caucus have condemned the House-passed spending bill and vowed to vote against it when it comes up in the Senate, even as other Democrats say they’ll support it to avert a government shutdown. Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-Mass.) accused Republicans of passing “draconian” policies, and called on Senate Democrats to take a stance against the budget. “We’re facing a hostile government takeover and @SenateDems can do something about it,” Pressley, who opposed the continuing resolution, wrote on social media Friday. “The Trump-Musk spending bill will make our constituents hungrier, sicker, and poorer. Listen to your constituents....

If you spend any time online (particularly after Kendrick Lamar’s halftime show) you’ll come across memes that say that America was built by blacks or that Shakespeare’s work was written by a black woman or that black Africans built western civilization. I’m not convinced. To put it bluntly, has black Africa ever given the world anything of consequence since humans originated there? Has black Africa ever had a civilization worthy of comparison to the great civilizations we’re all familiar with? Is there a reason why Africa has the lowest IQs on the planet? That almost every country in Africa is...

The NAACP, the oldest civil rights organization in the country, is urging black Americans to avoid businesses ditching diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) efforts. “Attention, corporations: if you want our dollars, it’s time to do the right thing,” the organization said on social media over the weekend, announcing the launch of the Black Consumer Advisory, described as “a framework designed to keep our community informed on who’s pushing progress and who’s stuck in the past.” We have the power to choose where we spend our money. I am confident that this framework will support our community as we make difficult...

President Donald Trump is expected to pardon former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich, according to a person familiar with the plans.Blagojevich served eight years in prison on charges stemming from his effort to sell Barack Obama's Senate seat after Obama won the 2008 presidential election, until Trump commuted his 14-year sentence in 2020. Why it matters: Trump and Blagojevich have a relationship dating back to 2010, when the former governor appeared on the Trump-hosted "Celebrity Apprentice" after being impeached and removed from office.Blagojevich, who was a Democrat while in office, supported Trump in the 2024 election and attended the Republican National...

What in the world just happened at Reagan National Airport? Like many of you, I was deeply distressed to hear of such a great tragedy that should have been so easy to avoid. There is no way that we can bring back those that have died. Many believe that if competent people were running things at Reagan National Airport, they would still be with us. Others are entirely convinced that we aren’t being given the entire picture. There are so many unanswered questions, and I am going to share quite a few with you in this article. But let’s start...

Ex-Gov. Andrew Cuomo would clobber Mayor Eric Adams even among black voters if the pair ran against each other in the Democratic primary for mayor, according to an independent poll released Wednesday. The survey, conducted by Bold Decision and obtained by The Post, shows that Cuomo is the first choice of 46% of likely black voters compared to the 18% who said they would choose Adams, the second African-American to be elected mayor after David Dinkins a generation ago. Adams, who has been criminally indicted on fraud and bribery charges, is being dragged down by low approval ratings. Nearly three-quarters...

A cold-blooded killer who was spared the death penalty by President Biden is now demanding he be set completely free — because prison is just too awful. Brandon Council, 38 — who killed two moms working at a bank — filed a motion Friday claiming the Indiana federal prison where he is staying is one of the worst in the world and that his solitary confinement has been tantamount to illegal torture. The convicted double-murderer said he has endured “severe, unnecessary, and unjustifiable psychological harm” at FCI Terre Haute since his sentencing in 2019 and deserves “compassionate release.” The conditions...

Former ESPN personality Jemele Hill has finally made her pronouncement about the 2024 election, and it might surprise you to discover that she thinks Kamala Harris lost because of “racism” and “sexism.” Well, maybe “surprise” isn’t the word since it was predictable that she would ascribe Harris’s loss to racism and sexism because she describes everything that ails America to racism and sexism. Immediately after the election, Hill refrained from commenting on the outcome of the 2024 election. But she is now speaking up, and what she has to say is not just predictable but arrogant, as well, because she...

“So Amazon started their Black Friday deals early, and let me tell you, beware of this,” she says in the video. “I had 25 things sitting in my cart for the last two weeks, like things to prepare for the baby and I know the exact price of every single one of those items and what my cart total was two weeks ago.” Jess says she was expecting her cart total to drop significantly. “Everything was going to be on sale, and then I would put in my order,” she explains. “I logged in yesterday, all excited to see this...

Former President Clinton said he was flattered when acclaimed author Toni Morrison called him America’s “first Black president.” “When my friend Toni Morrison said that, you know, it was about — it was halfway serious and halfway making fun of me,” Clinton said Thursday at an event promoting his new memoir. “But I took it as a great compliment. It wasn’t that I owe it to my ancestors because I grew up in a white, Southern, working-class family where my grandfather owned a country store and all of his customers were Black, and he loved them and they loved him.”...

The threat to the Walt Disney Company comes as the studio recently announced a new Star Wars movie trilogy in the making from X-Men veteran Simon Kinberg. Rep. During the online “Overtime” segment of Friday’s broadcast of HBO’s “Real Time,” CNN Political Commentator and former Obama Adviser Van Jones stated that American adversaries like Iran, Russia, and China are “jumping on” “reductionist ideas on the left” to drive a wedge between black people and Jewish people on the left. In response to a question among Jewish people and black people on the left, Jones stated, “There is a deliberate effort on the part of Iran and Russia and China to drive a wedge and to make sure that every African American under the age of 30 –.”
