A violent career criminal accused of killing a Philadelphia police officer and wounding another told investigators he did it because the cops were white.
Early Saturday, 35-year-old Eric Lewis was arrested after an hour-long standoff with police.
Originally, law enforcement was called due to reports of a man standing on a porch with a gun around midnight.
After they arrived, Lewis confronted them and, after a brief struggle, opened fire on the officers.
Sadly, 40-year-old Officer Shane Seiber — a father of two, 10-year police veteran, and Air Force veteran — was shot and died hours later at the hospital.
His partner was also shot twelve times and hospitalized in critical but stable condition.

If he was a White Man this would have been a hate crime
But he is not White so, never mind. No cash bail and he walks free to kill again.
Question the View and Joy Reid about this. The other way around would have filled a lot of TV minutes.
To be honest, it is good to see someone admit this openly. Better for him to say it than someone else.
The average white person doesn’t have a clue how deeply their jealousy and envy runs.
Poor guy. He was doing great in life until he signed up with that philthy city. Terrible lapse in judgement. RIP.
Why do we have to say “alleged” when the guy already confessed?
“Poor guy. He was doing great in life until he signed up with that philthy city. Terrible lapse in judgement. RIP.”
I’m certainly not going to defend Philadelphia, even though I guess it’s “my” city. I live thirty minutes north of center city Philadelphia in a suburban town so safe nobody locks their doors, and the children can safely walk from plane to place.
And I’m not the least bit offended by the “philthy” comment - I’m 74 and have pretty much sworn off venturing into the city - it’s horrible.
However, I will say this: I am very confident I would feel exactly the same way about any of the large cities.. it’s just plain not worth venturing into any of them.
This is obviously a set-up.
There’s exactly zero chance that a hood rat would have used the correct tense of the verb “to be” (past simple plural) in this sentence.
The correct tense in ebonics would have been “wuz.”
He’s obviously being coached to say this by a college-educated LEO.
You are talking to someone who grew up on south side of Chicago. My wife is from north side. Used to love the city...still have many fond memories. Worked for city as a life guard on Lake Michigan for 2 summers a million years ago.Spent last 17 years of my job career commuting to the Loop. Despise and loathe the place now.
After 3 generations of LBJs feral Great Society children, we got exactly what we paid for.
