Palestinian sources said the three al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades members suspected of kidnapping and murdering settler teen Eliyahu Asheri have given themselves up to IDF forces in Ramallah after a three-hour standoff. The suspects barricaded themselves inside a local police station before surrendering; IDF forces have started to retreat from the area.

About 30 IDF jeeps surrounded a building in Ramallah on Wednesday. It was not immediately clear why the jeeps were in Ramallah, or whether their presence was connected to the disappearance of an Israeli settler. A Palestinian group with links to the ruling Hamas party has claimed to have taken the missing settler hostage. Unconfirmed reports said that the building is the headquarters of Fatah in the West Bank, and that the troops were searching for the missing Eliyahu Asheri.

A charred body found in the Ramallah area Wednesday morning will be taken shortly to the Institute for Forensic Medicine at Abu Kabir in order to verify its identity and the possibility that the body is that of missing Itamar resident Eliyahu Asheri.
