Although I am posting this a bit late, we had a great rally in Torrance, California this weekend, sponsored by Support America & More. This was the 3rd or 4th so far that this group sponsored. My wife attended alone last weekend while I was out of town, but this one I was able to join here on. There were about 100 or so people, good eats, good comradre and a lot of horn honking. We had the largest turnout and most appreciative response from motorists yesterday! At the peak over 40 people were on the four corners of US 41 Bypass & D. Venice Ave. between 1-3PM. The safe return of seven POWs on Palm Sunday morning added to our feelings of joyful thanksgiving. We brought large yellow bows and tied them to the four traffic light posts on the four corners. We also gave away over 200 yellow ribbons to the drivers stopped for red lights. Some returned later to drive by and show the ribbon tied to their radio antennas. Several people...

Janet Lind of Ault tried to hold back her tears. Her 21-year-old son, Michael Ackelson, was on his way to the Middle East Sunday afternoon as she was hanging his picture up at Eaton City Park. Lind took part in a citywide-sponsored event to gather supplies for troops overseas. Many of the 200 people there were either family members or friends of troops overseas. Thanks to all the FReepers who showed up in Cleburne today to help us support the Lone Marine. There were many people driving by who honked and waved their support as well. After a stimulating pre-FReep breakfast at the Burleson Cracker Barrel, we drove to the Johnson County Courthouse in Cleburne for the rally. It was a beautiful, mild, sunny day in Metairie (a suburb of New Orleans), and the crowd of patriots who came to our informal “Rally for America” were full of optimism and in a flag-waving mood.
