It was a beautiful, mild, sunny day in Metairie (a suburb of New Orleans), and the crowd of patriots who came to our informal Rally for America were full of optimism and in a flag-waving mood. We are all so thankful that seven of our POWs were found alive today and that our heroic troops have brought freedom to the people of Iraq! We are so proud of our troops and so proud to be Americans!
This is the fourth patriotic rally in the New Orleans area in four weeks organized by Patriot1 and me. We have been organizing informal rallies each Sunday, following our big formal rally in Kenner, LA on March 21st, which featured such important speakers as Congressional Medal of Honor Winner Gen. James Livingston and Congressman David Vitter, as well as top notch entertainment.
Bethany Wangler, the wife of Marine Warrant Officer Paul Wangler, led the prayer for our troops. Then the families of active duty military each announced the name of their loved one and where he was serving. One of them told us how much she appreciated being able to participate in our rallies, since it has helped her to cope with having her son fighting far away in Iraq.
Our rally also featured live patriotic music by Randy Rumbelow on his electric piano. Randy is the talented musician who provided the music at our formal rally in Kenner, and the crowd loved his patriotic offerings. Of course, we also had lots of flag-waving and horn-honking of supporters. The noise was so deafening that it sounded like New Years Eve!
We are so grateful to our troops for the sacrifices they are making for us and for our great country. Our large homemade 2x7 ft. sign expresses this sentiment. It says: THANK YOU AMERICAN TROOPS.
This sign sums up the reason we are having these ralliesto show appreciation and support for our troops. Its the least we can do.

Easter Sunday is going to be an off day for our rallies. But we'll continue praying for our brave troops who are fighting in Iraq.

You did a wonderful job in describing today's informal Rally for America! As you said, the weather was absolutely fantastic. Those who attended were extremely enthusiastic. The support displayed by motorists, who showed their agreement with our cause by honking and giving thumbs up, reinforced our belief that Americans overwhelmingly support our troops and our President. Free Republic has done an outstanding job in promoting these rallies.

Patriot1, I was so happy to have you back from visiting your son in Michigan. Our rally was such an uplifting experience, and you do such a good job in organizing these events. I know that you find these rallies as rewarding as I, since so many people express their appreciation for the opportunity the rallies give them to show support for our brave troops and our great President.

Your display of pictures from previous rallies was wonderful. I also liked the special attention given to those who are currently in the active military. Each service man or woman is a "hero" and should be acknowledged as such.

I'm glad that we have yall and others that still support our troops and our President. 4, I'm happy to say that we supporters of our troops and our President are the vast majority of Americans. Our group just happens to be the vocal segment of the silent majority!
