The City of Palm Bay, Florida held a Rally For America on Saturday, April 12,2003. Attendance was estimated at 2,500 although the local paper said 1,500 [imagine that]. This was the third support the troops rally in the area if you count the chartered bus trip to the Clearwater / Tampa rally featuring Glen Beck and Jeb Bush. See source URL for more photos.

On Saturday April 12th I spend my day as a spy in the camp of the enemy. I arrived some 1 1/2 hours after the start of their rally and quitely stood by as many of them ran about. One group of all dressed in black protestors engaged the police and ran outside the protest route at one point they even attempted to knock a DC Police Officer off his bike to which the police to their benefit where not having that the guy was arrested and his friends who egged him on before just looked on . Saturday as promised, a rally was held at the Grand Rapids Veterans Park. Unlike last week when the temperature and wind caused the cancelling of the event, (even though we still had a rally anyway!), today was a beautiful day. On Saturday, April 12, Citizens United and the Young Ameriics's Foundation held a rally on the National Mall in Washington, DC. The rally, co-sponsored also by the D.C. Chapter of Free Republic, had the Capitol looming large a few blocks behind the stage. The Washington Monument soared up from the other end of the mall and the spirits of assembled patriots soared as well. We broke the rules this morning. FReepers had agreed not to oppose the peacenik’s message after the war started, but to instead support our troops. However, since the war took such a dramatic turn this week, we couldn’t resist one weekend letting the peacenik’s see what has been done not in their name. Especially since their protest does not seem to reflect the reality of what has occurred in Iraq, and the joyous expression of freedom by Iraqis for Iraqis.
