Troop Tribute...A Success!
On Saturday April 12, 400-plus people gathered at Eau Claire North High School to support our troops who are overseas and their families. The turnout was very encouraging and was everything WWIB'S Mark Halvorsen had hoped for...

Troop Tribute...A Success!
"The idea for this event had rolled around in my head over the past couple months, but I never said anything publicly until the March 31st Front Page. I had heard enough from the appeasement crowd and the cynical media, and I wanted to heartily express support for those putting their lives on the line for our future safety and the protection of our freedoms. Almost as soon as the words came out of my mouth, people started e-mailing to see if I was serious. I was, and we held a planning meeting the next night.
To think that we could hold the actual event less than two weeks later and have it go as well as it did is a testimony to the grace of God and the dedication of our team of volunteers.
The vision was to have a top-notch event filled with great music and singing, inspiring speakers and prayer which could somehow let our troops and their families know how grateful we are for the sacrifices they're making on our behalf. I felt our tribute lived up to that. I've heard nothing but positive comments from those who were in attendance and the many who listened by radio on WWIB. Thanks to all who participated, volunteered, attended and listened for letting our troops and their families know that they have our wholehearted support and appreciation!
