An Ohio woman's lawsuit alleging a Downers Grove sperm bank error that led to the birth of her biracial daughter has been thrown out of court. A DuPage County judge Thursday dismissed the lawsuit against Midwest Sperm Bank, saying the woman's wrongful birth claim and breach of warranty were not viable claims under state law. The suit, originally filed last November in Cook County, was refiled in DuPage County in March. Judge Ronald Sutter then gave attorneys for Jennifer Cramblett of Uniontown, Ohio, 14 days to refile the lawsuit as a negligence claim. Thomas Intili, a Dayton, Ohio attorney representing...

Massachusetts Senate President Stanley Rosenberg is engaged. A spokesman for the Amherst Democrat confirmed Thursday that Rosenberg is planning to marry his domestic partner, Bryon Hefner. The two have been together since 2009. The relationship between the 65-year-old Rosenberg and the 27-year-old Hefner briefly became news last year after Hefner allegedly mocked outgoing Senate President Therese Murray on Twitter and boasted about his influence in the Legislature. That prompted Rosenberg to reassure his Democratic colleagues that he planned to enforce a "firewall" between his personal and professional lives. Rosenberg was elected by his fellow senators to replace Murray, who stepped...

Men fought the state's 30-year-old gay adoption ban and won A homosexual Miami couple has officially adopted two brothers in a case that overturned Florida's three-decade ban on gay adoptions. Martin Gill and his partner were the boys' foster parents for six years before the adoption was finalized Wednesday. Gill and the American Civil Liberties Union filed a lawsuit against the state, calling the ban unconstitutional. The 3rd District Court of Appeal agreed in a ruling last year. The state decided not to appeal. Gill said he is thrilled they are "officially a family in the eyes of the law."...

The Jackson portrraid had sold in May for $278,500 at a Sotheby’s auction in New York. Warhol's highest selling portrait to date, "Lemon...
