In my part of Texas, oil, gas, and timber drives the economy. I made an observation in a family meeting yesterday that it's really starting to break loose here. The local RV parks that are usually empty during the week, are filling up with oilfield workers. The oil and gas personnel that I know who are involved in site prep are working overtime. My son-in-law is one, and he is now working 36 hour shifts. I've been holding off doing a thinning cutting on one of my timber tracts because the price has been so low. But, last week my...

The Archdiocese of New York has agreed to pay $800 million to settle the claims brought against the church by some 1,300 people who say they faced sexual abuse from clergy members and lay workers. Jeff Anderson, a lawyer whose firm represents more than 250 of the plaintiffs, said the settlement was finalized, pending signed paperwork, and that all plaintiffs had agreed to the settlement. In an email sent to priests of the archdiocese on Saturday afternoon and shared with NPR, Archbishop Ronald Hicks also said the deal had not yet been signed but that an agreement had been reached...

In the Democrat scheme of things, when one is losing an election, the thing to do is to keep on producing and counting ballots until one gets the result one wants. We saw that in 2020, we saw that in the Los Angeles mayoral primary. But now we see it in Brazil's election, where a socialist judge who had served as President Luiz Inacio 'Lula' da Silva's personal lawyer decided to increase voting by two hours -- after all the conservative districts had shut down their operations and could not restart their voting machines. 🚨 COUP: In American terms, what...

In this interview, I speak with Dr. Mark Musser, who has lived and served in Ukraine since 1998, about the political history that shaped Ukraine before Russia's full-scale invasion. I trace the surprising connection between Viktor Yanukovych, Paul Manafort, and Donald Trump ...

The flaw in socialism is both obvious and fatal. Because while socialism produces, ships, and sells nothing, it still assumes that these economic systems will continue functioning at consistently high levels in order to continue distributing the funds it desires to those it chooses. Wish my California neighbors would read this

House Speaker Mike Johnson on Sunday dismissed polling and election forecasts favoring Democrats in the battle for the House, saying Republican enthusiasm on the campaign trail points to a stronger showing in the midterm elections. Johnson, in a televised interview, said polls were undercounting Republican voters and relying on flawed analysis, challenging the network's forecast showing Democrats favored to win a majority. "I'm telling you, these polls are off — all of them. They use faulty analysis," Johnson said.

hy must leftists conquer entire nations? Why do they get so angry at anyone who resists their ideology? Why can’t they just build a new nation filled entirely with fellow leftists? It really shouldn’t be this difficult for Marxist-socialists, communists, “green energy” fanatics, “diversity, inclusion, and equity” cultists, and bureaucracy-worshiping globalists to build a regulatory paradise based on the “woke” commandments of their secular faith. There are more than enough power-hungry leftist politicians in the European Union, the United Kingdom, Canada, and the United States to construct the all-powerful central government that they desire. Career bureaucrats in the U.S. have...

“You can almost guarantee that every woman that’s in the north of France has probably been raped along the journey. Some of the men too,” UK Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood admitted on a podcast. “They’ve certainly been abused and threatened.” If a fellow Muslim woman or girl isn’t safe on a boat full of her own people, what happens to a British woman or girl alone at night in a park or a train station with one of these ‘migrants’? What the Pakistani Muslim Labour politician put in charge of Britain’s immigration and national security policies didn’t admit was that...

A single glacier sitting at the bottom of the world may be all that is holding back catastrophic amounts of sea level rise. As it melts away faster than ever, scientists are racing to get a better understanding of when it might fail. Unfortunately, they’ve recently found more bad news. This Antarctic bulwark known as Thwaites, or the “Doomsday Glacier,” is gargantuan – roughly the size of Florida – and holds enough ice to push the planet’s coastlines up two feet. But the edge of Thwaites also acts as a cork, holding up the rim of the West Antarctic ice...

🇺🇸Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem🇮🇱 (10/26/26)[Prayer]Personalities Psalm 64[a] For the director of music. A psalm of David.1 Hear me, my God, as I voice my complaint; protect my life from the threat of the enemy. 2 Hide me from the conspiracy of the wicked, from the plots of evildoers. 3 They sharpen their tongues like swords and aim cruel words like deadly arrows. 4 They shoot from ambush at the innocent; they shoot suddenly, without fear. 5 They encourage each other in evil plans, they talk about hiding their snares; they say, “Who will see it[b]?”6 They plot injustice...

Rep. Ilhan Omar has retained Amy Jeffress, former personal attorney to President Joe Biden, to represent her in a federal investigation concerning her immigration history and financial disclosures. Joshua Matz, also from the same firm, will join her legal team. This development follows renewed attention to a deleted 2013 social media post, which has raised questions about her family name. Omar has not been charged and denies any wrongdoing. A seven-page letter to the Justice Department On October 16, Jeffress and Matz sent a letter requesting the return of Omar’s passport, electronics, and other seized property, as well as preservation...

A Somali-born public school official who invaded the State of Maine years ago now wants to impose his culture on the state's natives. As The Maine Wire reported on Wednesday, the Portland Public Schools Policy Committee held a meeting on October 14 that focused on the school district's newly proposed policy on animals in schools. As currently drafted, the policy states as follows: school administration must sign off on the animals, service animals must be certified, and domestic animals must be restrained. But Abdullahi Ahmed, the Somali-born Muslim assistant superintendent for student, family, and community partnerships at Portland Public Schools,...

In my post several days ago on October 18, I recounted the story of how ignorant Chinese Communist Party ideologues in the late 1950s convinced themselves that they knew how to achieve limitless agricultural production by just ordering each community to produce large, arbitrary amounts of food. Do you want to double grain production? Then just plant twice as many seeds in the same acreage! The ideologues had no idea how agriculture actually worked in the real world. Within a couple of years, there was widespread famine, probably the largest in world history. Tens of millions died horrible deaths of...

"From childhood you have known the sacred writings which are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus" (2 Tim. 3:15). Planting and nurturing the seed of God’s Word in a child’s mind can produce an abundant spiritual harvest. Not long ago I met with a group of Christian leaders to consider several candidates for a significant ministry position. During our meeting it dawned on me that each candidate's father was a prominent pastor. Each candidate had grown up in a family that daily taught and exemplified biblical truth. That illustrates...
