Hundreds of police in the force whose officers handcuffed Henry Nowak as he lay dying felt 'controlled and pressured to be certain ways' during mandatory diversity training. More than 6,000 Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary officers and staff were taught about racism, unconscious bias and the 'importance of being an ally'. A survey following the course revealed one in seven participants (16 per cent) had felt 'controlled and pressured' to adopt certain ideas during the teaching. A similar proportion of 14 per cent thought 'mistakes would have been held against me', while one in five (20 per cent) feared...

Islamist’s attack on synagogue. The chairman of a policing scrutiny panel was sacked after she complained that officers were avoiding the “elephant in the room” of Islamist extremism in a meeting about an anti-Semitic terrorist attack. After last October’s attack on a synagogue in Manchester, the woman accused West Yorkshire Police of trying to appease Muslims rather than focusing on the Jewish community. She was told she was being removed as chairman of the Bradford Hate Crime Scrutiny Panel because of her “divisive and inflammatory” comments, which had prompted complaints from Muslim police officers taking part in the meeting. It...

Rep. Al Green, D-Texas, was caught on video calling Homeland Security Sec. Markwayne Mullin a “racist” during a House committee meeting Wednesday focused on department funding. Following the initial outburst, Green proceeded to tell Mullin to “shut up.” The Homeland Security secretary could be seen cocking his head in apparent surprise, as Green continued the verbal attack, repeating “shut up.” “Did you just tell me to shut up,” Mullin asked. As the sound of the gavel rang out, Green shouted back, “It’s my time.” “I’m not going to let anybody call me a racist chairman,” Mullen calmly told Rep. Andrew...

Multiple Knicks fans were arrested Wednesday night while celebrating their hometown team’s thrilling NBA Finals Game 1 victory at Madison Square Garden’s first outdoor watch party permitted by the city in weeks. The celebratory sea of Knicks fanatics packed the streets surrounding the Garden, where they cheered the team’s 105-95 win against the San Antonio Spurs as hundreds of cops looked on — and a waving Mayor Zohran Mamdani was driven by in a black SUV, according to social media clips. The outdoor event had been scrapped for weeks after the city pulled permits over concerns of unruly fan antics....

A senior police officer has praised the “impressive” efforts of an elderly man who shot an alleged intruder after he and his wife were stabbed at their rural NSW home. Police allege the 75-year-old man and 72-year-old woman, identified as Keith and Dianne Blessing, were attacked by a knife-wielding man in their home at Torrington, a small village in northern NSW, just after midnight on Thursday. Ms Blessing “collapsed with a chest wound” while her husband was slashed across his abdomen, police say. Mr Blessing called triple-0 as their alleged attacker retreated onto the home’s veranda. The alleged attacker can...

On Wednesday’s CNN This Morning, Democratic strategist Antjuan "Sour Grapes" Seawright lashed out at the growing success of political newcomers like Spencer Pratt in the Los Angeles mayoral primary, dismissing the trend as part of a “reality TV, or trash TV” model in the Republican Party. “I also think there’s a new model in the Republican Party, reality TV, or trash TV, and you don’t have to have experience and you audition for the job.” Great point, Antjuan! Unlike Karen Bass, whose "experience" includes letting the Palisades burn, while needles and human waste pile up on LA’s streets. Get the...

Blanche has been the acting head of the Justice Department since April 2, when Trump elevated him from his deputy attorney general post after firing Pam Bondi. White House deputy chief of staff Dan Scavino shared a video on X of Trump making the announcement during a private dinner in the Rose Garden. “Tomorrow I’m instructing Dan and everybody else that’s involved in that very complicated process, which is gonna go I think very quickly, that we are going...

The chief of cardiac surgery at the Jewish General Hospital has tendered his resignation and plans to move to Atlanta in September, citing rising antisemitism in Montreal and worsening problems with the province’s health-care system, The Gazette can reveal. Dr. Emmanuel Moss, who has worked at the Jewish General for the past 10 years, has already informed his patients and his synagogue of his imminent move to the United States. Moss’s departure makes him the second high-profile Montreal Jew — after Concordia University professor Gad Saad — to decide this spring to quit the city amid a sharp increase in...

President Trump formally moved to implement his plan for making it easier to fire federal workers in policy roles, signing an executive order moving them into a new class that critics say will be akin to political employees. Schedule Policy/Career (P/C), an effort pushed under the first Trump administration as Schedule F, allows some 8,000 federal workers to be hired and fired like current political appointees, stripping workplace protections they would otherwise get under the Civil Service Reform Act. An executive order signed by Trump on Wednesday seeks to move those workers into the new class, saying they would be...

PIERRE, S.D. (South Dakota Searchlight) – After 14 incumbent South Dakota lawmakers lost their seats in the 2024 Republican primary, 16 lost on Tuesday, according to unofficial results from the Secretary of State’s Office. The 2024 shakeup was described as “an earthquake” by Spearfish Rep. Scott Odenbach, a Republican incumbent who won his own primary that year and was elevated to majority leader of the House of Representatives with support from the newcomers. In the 2026 primary, those former newcomers made up the majority of the ousted incumbents. snip Several of the lawmakers who lost their seats in the 2024...

In one of the latest examples of political extremes converging over Israel, Reps. Ro Khanna and Thomas Massie joined forces this week to challenge a provision expanding US-Israel defense cooperation. Khanna, a progressive California Democrat, and Massie, a Kentucky Republican, both said over the weekend that they would seek to remove a provision from the House’s annual defense bill that would expand US-Israeli defense technology cooperation. The section of the National Defense Authorization Act for 2027 that Khanna and Massie have taken aim at would require the Secretary of Defense to designate an “executive agent responsible for synchronizing cooperative efforts...

@shadowJ47 This is attempted murder caught on multiple angles by UK cops gone full rogue. A lone patriot stands there with arms folded when the riot squad swarms him, slamming shield edges into his head and neck over and over like they’re trying to crack his skull open. Blood flying, repeated rabbit punches with riot gear — the kind of blows banned in boxing because they kill. This isn’t “restraint.” It’s a pack hunting a native Brit in his own country while real criminals get kid gloves. Two-tier policing at its bloodiest: protect the imports, smash the locals who dare...

Monterey Park voters made history Tuesday by passing the first permanent ban on data centers nationwide. Voters are on track to overwhelmingly approve the ban, with 86% in favor according to the latest ballot count, leading organizers to claim victory (the official results won’t be certified until July 10). Where other jurisdictions have passed temporary measures to curb the controversial development of these massive server farms, Monterey Park voters’ decision in this election will keep developers at bay unless voters want to revisit the decision in a future election. “It really goes to show the power of community,” Monterey Park...

A trilateral summit convened by the United States in Washington has resulted in a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Lebanon, following intensive two-day negotiations on Tuesday and Wednesday. A joint statement issued following the second day of talks on Wednesday stated that the accord dictates that the implementation of the truce is directly "contingent on a complete cessation of Hezbollah fire and the evacuation of all Hezbollah operatives from the South Litani Sector". To enforce the peace, Israel and Lebanon agreed to "swiftly advance the creation of pilot zones in which the Lebanese Armed Forces will take exclusive control of...
