For me, the most chilling thing in the bodycam footage of Henry Nowak’s last moments of life is the cops’ cruel presumption that he is lying. As he writhes in terror and agony and cries out ‘I’ve been stabbed!’, a voice in the background – presumably that of the lowlife who murdered him, Vickrum Digwa – says: ‘He hasn’t been stabbed.’ A female officer responds. ‘I know’, she says. ‘But we have to check, don’t we?’ I know. It is delivered with dry, bureaucratic indifference. Henry is heard moaning, begging, ‘I can’t breathe’, yet here is a representative of the...

As of 5 p.m. Tuesday, one person was released by the suspect, according to Bakersfield Police. All of the people being detained by the suspect are in good health, according to authorities. Republican Sen. Dan Sullivan’s re-election campaign is accusing one of his opponents in Alaska and Democrats in Washington of recruiting a candidate with the same first and last name: Dan Sullivan. “Mary Peltola and D.C. Democrats know they can’t win this race on the issues, so they’ve resorted to dirty, dishonest tactics — recruiting a sham candidate with the sole purpose of deceiving voters and manipulating Alaska’s election system,” Nate Adams, the senator’s campaign spokesman, said in a statement Tuesday.

A generator fuel line set up for temporary lights for a May 17 event was cut, causing fuel to seep into underground cisterns that collect rainwater under the Washington, DC, landmark, Freedom 250 spokeswoman Rachel Reisner told NBC News. “Following the Freedom 250 team’s installation of temporary lighting on the National Mall, our equipment has been repeatedly targeted by vandals. The recent fuel leak was the direct result of that tampering,” she said.

During a Washington Nationals baseball game on May 17, 2026, three people unfurled a large banner from the upper deck of Nationals Park displaying a link to a white nationalist website. The website, warning of the replacement of whites by people of color, called for the deportation of 100 million people from the United States.

A hoax costs taxpayers hundreds of millions of dollars and incites arson attacks against dozens of churches. This time, however, it’s not the latest headline out of Minnesota — look a little further north. In 2021, at a time when media throughout the western world were still in a state of high agitation after the killing of George Floyd, Canadian outlets picked up on a story too sensational not to be true. Hundreds of indigenous First Nations children had been buried in unmarked graves at residential schools run by the Catholic Church in British Columbia.

It is nearly a year since Keir Starmer and Emmanuel Macron agreed their ‘ground-breaking’ deal to stop the small boats crisis in the Channel. Dubbed the ‘one in, one out’ agreement, the scheme was hailed as a triumph by the Prime Minister, and by some of his cheerleaders in the media. ‘A small boats deal with France would be a game-changer for Starmer – and the country,’ proclaimed an editorial in the Independent. There were one or two more cynical takes on the deal, most of them found in these pages. As I wrote last year: ‘This latest plan to...

The field of candidates for governor was once crowded with big-name California Democrats. By Election Day, it had narrowed to two — Xavier Becerra and Tom Steyer — and Republican Steve Hilton. Each of those three campaigns has a story to tell about its own success. Becerra will talk about how he overcame “racist” criteria on polling and fundraising to become the first viable Latino candidate for governor (after Eric Swalwell imploded in a sudden sex scandal). Steyer will talk about how he fought billionaires and special interests — after spending over $200 million of his own money, a record...

When polled, Michigan voters express their disapproval of the masses of Third World migrants in the United States. In fact, by a stunning 6-to-1 margin, Michigan voters believe the state welcomes too many Islamic immigrants. For decades, ever since the disastrous Hart-Celler Immigration Act of 1965, America has invited in masses of migrants from the Third World, mostly based simply on family ties rather than skills, alignment with our values, and love of America. Now, new polling from the American heartland shows that voters have had enough and want to prioritize existing American citizens and fully assimilate the record number...

Over the weekend, as part of the Black Crowes' "Southern Hospitality Tour" along with Whiskey Myers, Crowes lead singer Chris Robinson tried to shut down the patriotic Tampa crowd and instead watched a steady stream of concertgoers leave mid-set rather than listen to his woke nonsense. During the show, according to TMZ, a screen showed the band’s crow mascot as Uncle Sam, which sparked “USA” chants from the crowd. Robinson seemed miffed by the patriotic outburst and snidely lectured the crowd, saying, “Thanks for the geography lesson.” As the chants continued, he added, “I don’t know what you have to...

In Colombia, they did it! After polls and media accounts had indicated that FARC-linked leftist Ivan Cepeda could win the first round of the election, voters went and handed the tough-talking conservative the victory. That was a stinging rebuke to Colombia's ruling leftist party and its odious president, Gustavo Petro, with voters giving them the boot and replacing them with a firmly, pro-Trump, pro-private sector, anti-crime conservative, who, worse (for them), seems to be on a mission to end the scourge of leftism forever. Abelardo De La Espellier, known as 'el tigre' won the first round of the presidential election...

A 28-year-old Long Island man died in his father’s arms as his shocked mom looked on following a hookup gone horribly wrong early Monday, officials said. Kristen Sculley, 22, who is facing second-degree murder charges in the fatal Massapequa stabbing of Robert Carragher, allegedly snuck into the victim’s basement apartment in the middle of the night for a pre-arranged liaison before stabbing the victim to death in his own bed, police said. In a chilling moment, Sculley flashed a sinister smirk as she was led to court by cops on Tuesday. “We believe that this female individual made an arrangement,”...

Key Points Nvidia’s announced entry into the PC chip market sent shares of AMD, Intel and Qualcomm lower on Monday as Wall Street recognized the threat. Jensen Huang, Nvidia’s CEO, signaled his intent to “reinvent the PC.” Analysts see Nvidia moving beyond the data center and to the so-called edge, as smaller devices become capable of running AI workloads without tapping the cloud. ============================================================= As important as Nvidia has become to the tech industry, its entire run-up in recent years has been tied to the data center. Now the chipmaker is going after the PC market, and Wall Street is...

A mysterious civilization that ruled Italy long before the Roman Empire. The Etruscans were masters of the sea, legendary traders who dominated the Mediterranean. Yet, for centuries, their maritime secrets remained hidden beneath the waves. In February 1999, a high-tech COMEX robot made a stunning discovery off the French coast: an intact Etruscan shipwreck resting 70 meters deep for over 2,500 years. Loaded with hundreds of amphorae, this "interrupted journey" offers archaeologists a unique window into the trade routes and lives of these forgotten pioneers. Follow the scientific investigation to solve the enigma of the masters of the ancient sea....

Prime Minister Mark Carney responded Tuesday to a report showing the Canadian economy has contracted for two consecutive quarters, saying part of the “weakness” is linked to the government’s decision to scale back immigration. He said Ottawa’s plans to boost investment will ultimately produce a “stronger, more resilient economy,” but that economic data will be “uneven” in the interim. “You have these cross currents as the economy is being fundamentally transformed. We’re going to continue to work. We’re making progress, but there’s more to be done,” he said. Mr. Carney’s comments are his first about Statistics Canada’s quarterly GDP report,...

ALBANY – Democratic lawmakers are looking to change the state constitution in a power grab that will allow them to carve up congressional maps — and target seven Republican-held seats. A proposed amendment released Monday by the Democratic majority would give its own members authority to change the maps to draw new congressional district lines favorable to their candidates, with insiders saying it could mean flipping at least four GOP congressional seats in the state. Democrats, who control both houses of the state legislature and hold a more than 2-to-1 voter enrollment advantage over Republicans, would need voters to approve...
