The Department of Housing and Urban Development on Friday launched an investigation into Multnomah County, Oregon, over the county's race-based homelessness programs, writing in a letter to county officials that the programs likely violate the Fair Housing Act. The move comes after the Washington Free Beacon reported that Multnomah County, which includes most of Portland, awards more points for "requesting culturally responsive services" than for being "homeless 12+ months" in its allocation scheme for housing services. Individuals must reach a certain cutoff on the points-based index in order to qualify for supportive housing. The county also sets aside "culturally specific"...

The world is getting more uptight about lending money to President Donald Trump’s government — causing interest rates to climb in ways that are worsening affordability pressures, hampering economic growth and creating a new risk for Republicans in November’s midterm elections. The energy price spike triggered by the Iran war has seeped into the price of bonds that help fund the U.S. government. Interest rates on a 10-year U.S. Treasury note are topping 4.44%, up from 3.95% before the war started at the end of February. Average mortgage rates have climbed to their highest levels in nine months, while auto...

Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union,” Sen. Andy Kim (D-NJ) said he would work with anyone who wanted to fight against President Donald Trump when asked about Democrat Maine Senate candidate Graham Platner, who’s embroiled in controversy amid allegations of adulterous behavior. Host Dana Bash said, “I want to ask you about the Senate race in Maine and The Wall Street Journal and New York Times reporting that last August, Democrat Grand Platinum’s wife told his campaign about sexual text messages....Do you have concerns about Grand Plattner?” Kim said, “Well, first I’ll say is, you know, I’ve been very...

Bitcoin treasury firm Strategy sold 32 BTC from its holdings last week for roughly $2.5 million, per an SEC filing. The average sale price was $77,135 per Bitcoin, and brings Strategy's holdings down to 843,706 BTC, worth approximately $61 billion at current prices. Funds from the sale of BTC will be used to fund distributions on preferred stock, the firm said in the filing. The sale sees the Bitcoin treasury firm abandoning its long-held "never sell" stance....

President Trump likes his military and diplomatic victories quick, clean and decisive. (snip) But now, Mr. Trump has hit the stalemate phase of his presidency. The war with Iran is clearly at that stage. When he declared a cease-fire on April 7, Mr. Trump said on social media that the end of combat operations would be conditional on “the COMPLETE, IMMEDIATE, and SAFE OPENING of the Strait of Hormuz.” It wasn’t. Even if commerce now resumes across the strait under a memorandum of understanding still under negotiation, it will still leave the future of Iran’s nuclear and missile programs exactly...

WATCH: Unions Join Newark Anti-ICE Protests as the Left MOBILIZES Against Trump’s Immigration Enforcement VIDEOS AT LINK.............. Anti-ICE protests in Newark, New Jersey, are exposing a much larger problem than opposition to one detention facility. The demonstrations show how organized left-wing groups, labor activists and even teachers unions are joining forces to fight President Trump’s immigration agenda. On the latest episode of The Patriot Perspective, the hosts discussed the protests outside the Newark ICE facility and the broader movement behind them. The concern is not simply that activists are protesting. Americans have a right to protest. The concern is that...

Over the past two weeks, there have been nightly and escalating riots at the Delaney ICE Detention Center. Massive resources have been poured in by outside NGOs funded by leftist billionaires, foundations, Neville Singham, and the Chinese Communist Party. Protesters from around the country have assembled there, expensive riot gear provided to the activists, and even scripts given to selected spokespeople to push out a carefully constructed message. As in Minnesota, local politicians have been backing the rioters, insisting that they are only using their First Amendment right to protest, even if that means assaulting officers, lighting fires, stealing from...

O’Keefe Media Group has released a new undercover report revealing that Sean Hudson, who is the Washington Nationals’ Director of Community Relations, admits to discrimination against starting pitcher Trevor Williams because of his Catholic faith, digitally surveilling fans who attend Nationals Park, and having a communist agenda. Talking about Williams, Hudson stated that “he is very Catholic,” noting that the Los Angeles Dodgers featured a drag group that was anti-Catholic during a Pride Night they hosted. The group, which calls itself “Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence,” was criticized after wearing nun costumes and performing on a crucifix. “Baseball stadiums should be...

The newly elected vice president of Massachusetts's top teachers' union is a longtime left-wing activist who has denounced the United States as a "fascist oligarchy," objected to national borders as a "construct of colonizers," and pushed resolutions condemning Israel as "genocidal." The Massachusetts Teachers Association (MTA)—an affiliate of the National Education Association (NEA), the largest labor union in the United States—earlier this month elected Deb Gesualdo as its vice president. The new leadership team will take over from outgoing MTA president Max Page in July. Gesualdo, along with the MTA’s newly elected president, Matt Bach, is a member of Educators...

The New Hampshire Campus Carry Bill, HB1793, appears to have been killed by amendments and the Senate’s unwillingness to compromise with a conference committee. As reported on AmmoLand, the bill looked to have a bright future earlier this year. HB 1793 had two major provisions. First, it removed the special power of public institutions of higher learning, mostly colleges and universities, to infringe on the exercise of Second Amendment rights in New Hampshire. Second, the Bill made clear that no special permit would be required to exercise those rights on campus. The legislature had the power to do this because...

Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lee Zeldin has taken the ax to over $22 billion in environmental-justice and DEI grants and contracts in order to help reprioritize the agency’s commitment to protecting human health and the environment, rather than allowing it and its mission to be co-opted by progressives who use them to further its own socialist agenda. While former President Joe Biden was in office, his administration handed out billions of taxpayer dollars to a number of activist organizations that placed their ideological agenda ahead of taking action to legitimately provide solutions for environmental issues impacting communities across the United...

A Nigerian political candidate who presented himself as a 30-year-old man with dwarfism has withdrawn from the 2027 race after leaked documents reportedly showed he is actually 15. Mahmoud Sadis Buba, from Kaduna State, had recently drawn attention as an unusual young candidate for Nigeria’s House of Representatives. He identified himself as a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress and said his childlike appearance was the result of a medical condition. His campaign profile and striking appearance earned him the nickname “the Wonder of Zaria,” as supporters portrayed him as a fresh young voice entering national politics. But doubts...

For 30 years, the Miner's Delight restaurant in remote Atlantic City, Wyoming, was the place to go in the Cowboy State. Started by an advertising executive from New York, the upscale French cuisine attracted diners from hundreds of miles away. In the early 1960s, the stress of being an advertising executive in New York was taking a toll on Paul Newman’s health. Calling himself Paul Newman “The Original” — he’s not the Oscar-winning actor — he was on a fishing holiday in Wyoming when he told his wife Georgina (Gina) that instead of dying on the streets of New York,...

(The Epoch Times)—Newark, New Jersey, has issued a curfew near an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility that experienced fiery protests on May 30. “Due to the escalating situation at Delaney Hall and the increasing need for police intervention, immediate action is required to protect public safety,” Newark Mayor Ras J. Baraka wrote in a statement on May 31. Saturday's episode of The Weekend: Primetime on MS NOW pretended to present a balanced discussion between a Republican and a Democrat strategist in cowboy hats about the Texas Senate race between James Talarico and Ken Paxton. Co-host Elise Jordan introduced one of the guests this way: “Joining us now is Mark McKinnon, former advisor to George W. Bush and John McCain… Mark, you have a long career advising Republicans in Texas.” In reality, McKinnon’s Republican credentials are extremely thin and dated. His last significant Republican work was on John McCain’s 2008 presidential campaign, which he quit because he wanted Barack...
